What I enjoy most about my job is working with my clients on their individual projects and that the services I provide will help their businesses run more smoothly, reduce employee issues, and improve company value.

I've worked for different companies, and in different industries, throughout my career and have learned from the mistakes I've witnessed as well as from best practices. To validate my HR knowledge I became PHR and SHRM-CP Certified. I'm methodical in my approach to problem solving and enjoy creating streamlined processes so I pursued Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and became certified in 2019. At this point I want to bring knowledge, skills, and passion directly to my clients, working to my own strengths and convictions.

Protecting the business and its employees should be of utmost concern for any business owner, yet many small to midsized companies can't afford an HR professional, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have someone who can help them navigate the world of HR. This is where I come in. Each of my clients receive personalized service. I get to know their business and culture. I'm here to offer advise on what actions can be taken to protect the company, and to help with problem situations as they occur. If a situation comes up that is out of my area of expertise I will let them know. They can expect honestly, transparency, and professionalism when they come to me for help.

I work with clients across the U.S. and utilize Zoom, phone, and email for communication. I'm work with clients in all time zones and can adapt to whatever method of communication is best for them. Unfortunately I do not provide services for businesses in CA.

How I can help protect my clients is to provide up to date information regarding COVID 19 state and federal requirements as well as best practices and policies for how to deal with COVID related issues in the workplace. The best offense is a good defense.

Services

Employee handbooks and job descriptions are essential in outlining the policies of the company and performance expectations for each position. They serve as the rules for the company and can be used to protect the company in lawsuits, unemployment, ADA, and EEOC claims. I create customized handbooks, ensuring all state and federal laws are outlined correctly. Job descriptions are also customized to the positions as they are within your company.

One of the top reasons employees tell me they are looking for a new job is because no one is talking to them about their performance, growth, or development. Gone are the days of the annual review. Employees want constant feedback. I can help coach you and your management team on how to have these conversations, and how to document them.

Let's face it, interviewing is tough, and most of the time you really don't know what questions to ask to help you identify if a candidate would be a good match for a job, so you make a decision on gut instinct. Let me coach you on how to conduct a successful interview through the use of identifying key competencies, personality traits, and by using behavioral based interview questions. You'll have a better understanding of each candidate before you make an employment offer.

If you have high turnover we need to identify why. Gone are the days of being able to replace an employee. The cost of recruiting, hiring and training someone can run between 4 - 10 times their annual pay. You cannot focus on growth if you are continually trying to replace. So once you find that right person it is important to keep them. I can help by providing insight on how to communicate with your employees so they remain engaged and productive, allowing you to focus on building your business.

Lawsuits from wrongful terminations are on the rise. While many states have employment "at will", courts are ruling on the side of employees if employers are unable to provide certain documentation in support of why they terminated. Let me help to ensure your terminations are done in a way that protects your company.
