Nancy is a fabulous restaurant. The service is great and the atmosphere is delightful. But what people come for is the unbelievable food. I had the Cured bacon with Sriacha molasses as a starter. It sounds a little odd, but it was delicious. For my main course I had Braised duck leg with avocado , ginger, and butternut squash. I love duck and have it whenever I see it on a menu, and this was one of the best.My wife had the Steamed pork buns with Asian sauce. It was like being in a really good Chinese restaurant. For her main course she had Sea Bass with avocado, black rice and Vietnamese carrot salad. It was fabulous, as it always is. They always have great fish. Salmon is their other specialty. More...

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a restaurant affiliated with a women’s clothing boutique, but we just loved this place. Food was exquisite . The main ingredient, meat or fish, was of high quality and perfectly cooked. What made the meal exceptional were the surprising little touches of unexpected flavor. My husband said his sea bass was the best he has had. Nice wine selection as well as full bar. Service was both highly professional and very entertaining. My favorite restaurant in the St Simons/Sea Island area. I had the seared lamb with cucumber , marinated cannellni beans and feta. It was fantastic - one of the best meals I have ever had there. Because I am on a diet, I had the salad instead of one of the wonderful , but fattening , other starters. It used to be called "Simple salad", but now is called "Anything but simple salad". Fabulous meal ! I had Whipped ricotta with fig chutney and toasted sourdough to start , and gnocchi with sweet corn, shrimp and ricotta for my main course. The main course was particularly good. The sauce was rich but not overpowering. My wife had Poached pear with prosciutto and balsamic syrup to start and Seared lamb with cucumber, marinated cannellini beans & feta. She loved both, and I had a bite of the lamb which was fantastic. You don't see lamb on the menu in this area very often, so this was a big treat for her. She ordered a Meringue cloud for desert which I ate half of (she said I ate more than half of it). This is almost always on their menu. It is definitely enough for two. Food-excellent flavors and combinations, my only desire (and NOT a detractor) would be to have more peaches in the peach upside down cake. But that cake....divine!Service-exceptional! Nancy is the best restaurant in 50 or maybe 100 miles. My favorite dish is the salmon, which they prepare with ginger lime, coconut rice, and Vietnamese carrot salad. It is the best salmon I have ever had anywhere in the world ! But that’s not what I had Friday. Instead, I had three starters. I began with the watermelon mint & feta salad. It was great. If you think there can’t be anything special about a watermelon salad, you haven’t tried this one. Next was cucumber gazpacho with lemon yogurt, mint & tomato soup. Their soups are always fabulous, but this one was particularly good. Then I had the steamed buns with pulled port & Asian slaw. Not what I would have expected from Nancy , but incredibly good! Finally, despite being on a diet, I had desert – the blueberry cobbler with caramel & vanilla ice cream. Nancy is not what we expected. It was very nice, don't get me wrong, but it was a little weird. The bathrooms are located in a dress shop that is attached to the restaurant, weird. We were the only ones there eating at 6pm on a Saturday, weird. It was really pricey, which we anticipated, but it is in a strip mall. When you are expecting to be wined and dined and expected to pay for it, you need a little more. The website said it was the number 1 rated dining experience in St. Simons. There are many fine dining restaurants on St Simon Island, I have been to all of them. This was my first visit to this restaurant and my only complaint is they are only open for dinner three nights per week (Th, F, Sat) so I was only able to visit for lunch. I chose Nancy due to the fantastic reviews on trip advisor, and booked a reservation mentioning it was our anniversary. When we arrived the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was very pretty. We were seated in a very comfortable candle lit window table. I just have to say I couldn't have made a better choice for dinner. The food was outstanding, and the service 5 star. Nancy is fabulous ! Great food. Wonderful service. Beautiful atmosphere. They are known for their salmon and seabass. I have had both many times, and always loved them. But this time I tried something different, Asian Duck. It was the best duck I ever had !
