To all of mutty paws:I know this isn’t your typical review owners will leave about your facility when their dog gets “the boot” from daycare ; ), but I really felt this was important to share with you all......At the very beginning when meeting Courtney during Keegan’s interview, I was a nervous wreck. Keegan had been in one daycare as a puppy where he would come home with notable scratches and injuries with no explanation from staff. His second experience at daycare in his early teenage time was fine at first until it wasn’t and because of how overstimulated he felt there with the 35 dogs in one group, he would tell a dog to back off , but be the one to get punished for it and put in a crate (but then expected to be playful after being the one disciplined. As my dog would be in a crate alone I was never notified until I stepped my foot down which is not always easy for people to do). For this reason we decided on our own terms neither of these daycares worked for Keegan. When mutty paws was recommended I honestly was thinking in my head “what she’s telling me sounds too good to be true”. During the interview with Courtney I was appalled. I couldn’t even believe a doggy daycare gave a tour (because I was never ever offered one at other places). I was so beyond impressed with the knowledge, skill, and education that the facility requires each staff member to have, and the standards they set them to. Honestly, you all are phenomenal. The way the facility is run, the cleanliness, the way the staff greets not only the dogs but the owners, the communication. I repeat. The. Communication. I can’t thank you all enough for all the time you have taken to work with Keegan, work with Sam and I, and help us understand what is best for him. Even though it didn’t work out for him, I will continue to highly recommend you to anyone who comes my way. Heck, maybe I’ll have another dog who isn’t so darn sensitive in the future! Mutty Paws is the absolute best dog care facility in Maine! I visited many other sites and have yet to find onw that offers this attention to detail. THeir facility is beautiful - special turf for their paws and small groups. The group spaces for play are separate from the others and they have both in and out doors in the same space.The focus on training and learning is very apparent. They help us learn to be better dog parents by sharing the training signals that they use and the exercises we can try at home. Our dog is very complex and the staff is amazing. Kyrie is a 10 month old yellow lab filled with energy; he has been going there since he was four months old and absolutely loves it. Each and every staff member I have communicated with has been super kind and helpful with any questions I may have regarding the facility or my pup while he is there. It's comforting knowing when we arrive at daycare the staff greets him by name and I have received pictures and updates on him through out the past six months. Mutty Paws offers a great facility and great transparency. when the are any concerns about it dog they let us know right away, whether it was something he did it anything that may affect him, like a possible cough that went around when he was a young puppy. My dog was timid and afraid and had a bad experience at another daycare so I was reluctant to try out Mutty Paws. But what a difference! Right from the start it was apparent that the staff KNOWS dogs!! They took their time to make sure my pup was comfortable before enrolling her in the program. Now she drags me to the front door with her "happy tail" and comes home exhausted and happy. The boarding experience is just as great. An amazing facility, an amazing staff and consistent quality service. We have had some terrible snow storms this year and I expected them to be close or close early, but thankfully NO. Dependability is extremely important to me and they have delivered every time. They were there bright and early and stayed open to the committed time. Talk about commitment! Also, professionalism by all at MPA. My dog is my family and I totally trust their care with Lucas. He loves the place and I believe he's a better dog for being enrolled at the Academy. I've been taking Peach to daycare here for a few months (generally 2-3 days/week). The service they provide is priceless, and they do a lot more than other daycares, yet remain competitively priced. Peach LOVES going here. Every morning at drop off, she gives her Peachy hug to the staff and goes with them to her suite, tail wagging and all. She is more well behaved since going here as well, as they work on basic obedience. I provide a small lunch and some healthy treats as snacks, as well as her favorite toys, and they make sure she gets them each day. I feel great about dropping her off here and never worry while I'm working like I do when she's at home alone. They also do an awesome job with their bathing/grooming services, on top of it being convenient to have done while she is in daycare. Our pup, Linus, absolutely loves Mutty Paws -- he whines when we pass it in the car! He always comes home tired from a long day of playtime :) Since going to Mutty Paws, his manners have also improved. He no longer NEEDS to meet/play with every dog we see on the street, is much more polite when greeting and now knows when another dog doesn't want to play.
