Our company could not be more thrilled with Lighten Up Caterers! Grace and her team did a superb job coordinating two separate events in the same week, complete with two separate menus. Added to this, was the task of coordinating tricky logistics, as both events took place on a boat that required unconventional meeting points and maneuvering of heavy yet delicate items on relatively unstable surfaces. Nevertheless, Grace handled everything with, well, grace! She was early, patient, and emanated a positive, can-do attitude that was greatly appreciated by our team.In the planning of these events, Grace was extremely well-versed in her menu options and capabilities.  She was helpful with our specific requests, proactive regarding allergies and dietary restrictions, as well as receptive to last minute changes.  On the day of, her presentation was beautiful, and the food was delicious - a sentiment that was reiterated by the numerous compliments we received from our own group as well as our guests! Grace's experience and expertise in this industry is abundantly obvious. We felt that we could trust her completely with our event, as opposed to having to direct or supervise her - something we were extremely grateful for, as it gave us leeway to focus on other tasks. Grace catered our wedding at the Newark Museum in August. She helped us design our menu and took all our needs into consideration. Unlike everyone else we had met with previously, she began by talking with us about our family food traditions and our hopes for the event's overall mood to design a buffet menu that fit our budget. All of our guests complemented the freshness and the flavors of the food. Additionally our parents (of course, the hardest to please) were delighted by the quality of her staff for the event. Grace is doing the catering for our wedding (upcoming in August at the Newark Museum) and she has been wonderful to work with. When we first sat down with her, she made us feel comfortable and helped us define what we were looking for. The other caterers we spoke to often gave us menus and asked us the "pick 3" from various categories. Grace helped us build up a menu based on our personal tastes and accounting for our families and traditional needs. It has been such a relief to work with someone who took the time up front to listen to us and get to know us. I feel that I can trust Grace to use her professional experience and best judgement, and I'm confident that we'll have a great menu on the day of the wedding that will be fresh and will leave everyone happy and full. :) More...
