We came here on Christmas Day 2019 for brunch. There was a great selection of items - a staff member gave us  quick tour before we made selections. My husband never had menudo before and our server showed him how to make a bowl. My son was extremely excited about the crab legs- even more excited that they were Dungeness crab legs! The staff was friendly and helpful and kept my champagne glass filled (BONUS!!). And of course a chocolate fountain is the best way to end a great meal! Thank you for a beautiful Christmas brunch! Spectacular customer service is hard to find....but Luminarias has it! The manager Juan Garcia, bar staff and general staff at Luminarias on 12/12/19 were beyond accommodating! They turned my 40th b-day into an amazing experience! My Department hosted our holiday party at Luminarias during the day (same say as my bday); however, a large group of us decided to stay for drinks after the party was over. The staff was beyond accommodating, providing our group with more tables and chairs, a young man was bartending this day, I believe his name was Charlie, (youngest guy working at the bar) he was such a good time, funny, great customer service, he helped turn are night into a blast!  I asked if we could lower the lights over the bar area; to help the vibe a little, he did without any questions. So needless to say, after few drinks we were ready to DANCE, unfortunately, this night, they do not typically have music/DJ; but Charlie and management said, if we had a speaker, we could play our own music, they didn't mind. Which was awesome.  We found a small speaker, that wasn't getting the dance vibe going.  But out of nowhere, here comes the manager, Juan with a huge DJ speaker, he plugged it in and said enjoy! He let us play music the whole night!!!!! When I say we had a great time!!! We Line Danced, dance to every type of music we could think of, Spanish, rock, funk etc... we danced the night away. The customer service was over and beyond. The Customer service level at this establishment was amazing. I was so impressed with how on top of everything, everyone working was! Even during our holiday party, the food was great, the  food and desserts came out so fast; they cleaned up each table so efficiently. The overall  attention to details Luminarias staff put in to our event to make all of their customers happy was astounding. Between the great staff, the beautiful building and the wonderful view from the large windows are simply breath taking. We will definitely come back! Thanks Luminarias staff! More...

This place Is amazing !!! Cynthia is sooo great .... she has the best section... she's amazing !  The bottomless is crazy, we can't count the mimosas lol. My Fiancé and I started our little Thanksgiving tradition and it was our 2nd year celebrating at this restaurant where we use to enjoy happy hours when we were friends. The moment we walked in the hostess (Maria. I might have to come back and edit names) welcomed us with a warming smile   and sat us by window with the beautiful view.  Right away the waiter (Jose Luis, I cant remember name)brought us out our drinks. Bottomless Mimosas. We walked over to the food and realized it had been relocated to the banquet hall next to the bar area. Several families different generations in one room( it was beautiful to see) with space to move around. They had different stations from sea food agua Chiles, crab legs another with pasta, carved meat  another station w/ menudo-posole. The center station had beans, rice, salad etc. The desert table was in bar room. On the opposite side of restaurant they had American and Mexican breakfast. The mariachi walking around singing gave it a very nice touch. I was frustrated with my hair while eating and Maria and waiter helped me out and found something for hair. They went over and beyond. Very attentive people. Everyone in restaurant that Day was unbelievably polite, and caring. I felt like it was my birthday. We ended the Afternoon with priceless pictures from photographer who captures beautiful moments. Thank you to everyone who worked on Thanksgiving for us. Well coordinated and organized. Thank you to the manager and every single employee who made it a beautiful day for a lot of families and stress free. I hope we can do it again in 2020 it will be our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. See you next year More...

Luminarias is my favorite restaurant but occasionally I enjoy their brunch also. Today was the absolute BEST! Due to the recent rain we had a last minute cancellation for my best friend'sbirthday plans so I booked a reservation for Sunday brunch the day before. The hostess was more than accommodating, we got a table with window views and the bartender Jose made our brunch experience more than five stars!! We not only enjoyed their delicious food, but Jose took the brunch experience to the next level! My best friend brought me here to have brunch for my birthday and honestly, this is the best brunch I've ever experienced! She booked the reservation via Open Table the night before since the rain had ruined our original plans. I was so surprised that not only did they seat us right away, but they gave us a table with window views! The food was delicious, but the service we received from Jose the bartender was even better! He was so attentive and had the staff sing happy birthday, then right before we left he brought us a birthday shot! I had my wedding ceremony and reception with Luminaria's and they were great to me. My coordinator was Debbie and she is AMAZING. She made me feel so secure with my constant questions and the planning - even when I changed things back and forth - she understands the process so well and is so helpful with giving you tips. I was a little hesitant before booking because of some negative reviews I read but I'm SO glad I didn't let that stop me from actually going to see the venue. It's a beautiful hilltop restaurant with views from the ballroom, the food was delicious, and their drinks were so good! (Half our party was drunk before the open bar even ended! Niceee) Our waiters and staff 10/10, bartender 10/10! I can go on and on but if you're considering this place, please check it out, you'll be surprised! Luminarias is a large restaurant seated on a hill in Monterey Park with a nice view.  It's similar to Castaway (Burbank), Odyssey (GranadaHills) and Pomona Mining Company, all part of the Speciality Restaurants Corporation. My family of over 50 people enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner here.  We arrived at 3pm and left just before the special closing time of 5pm.  We were seated in a private room but roamed around freely through the many buffet areas.  My daughter best described it as a mini Las Vegas buffet.  The food options were plentiful.  The only thing lacking was sushi.  Options included turkey, prime rib, seafood, chocolate fondue fountain, desert bar, breakfast bar, waffle station, etc.Service was great.  Our favorite was Oscar, the gentleman working the waffle station.  He was friendly and helpful.  Pricing for the Thanksgiving buffet seemed high but was well worth the cost. I called this restaurant because I was looking for a venue for my wedding reception I spoke to Priscilla Lopez who helped me coordinate my event. We used the Monterey Hill restaurant which is just down the driveway from the Luminarias and everything was perfect the setting was just beautiful the food was great and the staff and service were just so friendly and were right on top of all of our needs.
