Worst experience at a Moes ever in Hickory, NC. Employees were rude, did not greet us at all. A tray with less than a handful of chips and the salsa bar was not refilled and looked unattended to for hours. Then, we find out you've stopped offering black olives as yet another cut back on your "fresh" menu. We didn't realize Moes was going the same route as Subway has and getting cheap and generic. The whole fresh vibe is gone with the lack of vegetable options for a bowl or burrito now. You also removed the Coke machine that had flavor options which was a big reason my kids enjoyed the place. We don't want Icees with our meals. Bad call and tacky. And, not all kids want a tortilla and being told our daughter couldn't have her burrito in a bowl without a tortilla is pretty disheartening and makes this a very NOT kid friendly option since they already have limited choices already. By far one of the worst experiences ever! We walk in & nobody greets us. We walk around to order food & all three employees were off doing something else. The one girl was left to make our food but instead of saying hey or welcome to moes or even to make eye contact started on a Togo order while the other 2 girls walked around. We waited & waited until she was done with her to go order ( I’m assuming) for her to finally Acknowledge us. My husband was on his lunch break and had already wasted a good amount of time waiting on her to finish what she was doing to find out that there was nothing but Ground beef And dry old looking chicken left. They had no other steak or pork which is typically what we get. She told us it would take 15 to 20 minutes until any other meat was done. As we continue down the assembly line there was only peppers and onions left for one of our burritos. By the time we got to the cold toppings (not much longer) Another employee comes out with steak and pork which is we originally wanted. All of the cold toppings were to the bare minimum and not at all fresh remotely appealing. The girl making the burritos continues to slop on whatever was left in the In the containers which wasn’t much and had an attitude the entire time Which was crazy because she didn’t say more than two words to us. She seemed bothered that we wanted sauces added and got annoyed that we asked for more than the little bit of scraps that she THREW on our burritos. The guacamole that we paid extra for was brown and thrown on one side of the burrito. When we asked her to spread it out it only got worse. They had no limes no sauces no salsa… nothing! They had more COMPLETELY empty containers than their almost empty ones on the line.. These homewrecker burritos might as well have been tacos they were teeny tiny. For $11 a burrito I’d expect a lot more Then just lettuce and pico as an option to add in them. As we continued on the line to check out the next girl could barely understand us as we said we wanted the burritos for here and the chips packed to go. We ordered two drinks she gave us one. The language barrier was a huge issue at checkout. Our meal came up to $30.50 and I’m ashamed that we even paid it. The food was terrible the service was terrible. The salsa bar was bare and empty. Coke machine was down only had juice available. If it wasn’t for my husband being on break we would’ve left and went somewhere else. We used to frequent this Moes often and it has become less and less and now probably never again. I am surprised to see you guys are still in business. It’s unbelievable how we were treated and how expensive the food was for the quality and quantity that was available to us.
