Mims is classy. If I walked in here one day and saw a pianist or violinist playing I would not be surprised. Its great for a date. Great for low key conversation. If you are taking a date here, I would not recommend taking any old person. Only someone who can match the vibe. The food is intense. I would have to give it an 8.7 out of 10. Have driven past this restaurant many times and have been impressed with the reviews. Well tonight hubby and I stopped in for dinner. Glad we did because we enjoyed the vibe, service and the food. Started with a delicious martini followed with the Brie stuffed pretzel with fig jam. So delicious. My husband had the Monday BBQ special. Wolfed that down. I had the NY strip steak special. It's almost always packed in the parking lot but if that doesn't deter you that's great. It's actually a great spot to have a nice meal with friends or family. It's also great that they are very accommodating to those who have Celiac's or gluten sensitivity issues. Iv had the steak many times and enjoyed it. Steak to go as well and it's surprisingly delicious even out of house which I find impressive. The Cuban sandwich works gluten free too and was yummy. The burrata is also a great choice. I have heard so much from this restaurant (all good things) and I knew I needed to go check it out...and yes, so worth it! A MAJOR tip here: just get the mac & cheese! Seriously, it has over 6 cheeses in it and it is pure gold. I like this place food is good if not always great portions are generous. Service is good although the other night when I was there I felt very rushed we got our appetizers and before we had a chance to even finish them the main course came out. Not the waiter's fault!

My friend gave me an option of restaurants to choose from. One of the restaurants is Mim's! After checking the menu courses, I picked Mim's. In order to enjoy the 3 course early evening prix-fixe menu, your party has to be 12 or less. Unfortunately (or fortunately) our party started out with 14 people and slowly dropped off to the appropriate number. Yay! My friend made reservations since we were a huge group.Parking: street parking and valet parking. We decided to go with valet parking after one of the neighbors in the street was making us uncomfortable with alot of questions.Decor: when you walk in, you feel like you walked into a friend's home. It's very cozy and inviting. We were seated in a corner so that we had our own sections and didn't disturb other patrons. As the evening past, the restaurant became packed with a constant flow of customers.Menu: For my meal:I decided on appetizer: Burrata (my favorite - so good - fresh and creamy), entree: chicken pot pie (it's huge with chicken, carrots, peas, potatoes with the pastry crust overflowing on the side!), and dessert: warm apple crisp (it was with vanilla ice cream). My friends' meal order: appetizers: country salad, market salad, grilled portobello mushroom, Caroline BBQ pulled pork sliders, buffalo chicken spring rolls.Entrees: Cedar planked roasted salmon, zucchini linguine, marinated skirt steak (+$5), chicken parmigiana, grilled double cut pork chop (+$3).Dessert: Oreo Mousse Pie and Junior's NY Cheesecake. We got to sample everyone's dishes. I already got my eyes on several items if we go back. Everyone checked in on us and made sure our glasses were filled with water or their drinks. Everything was well done with managing a big group. No one had any complains in our group; always a good sign of a terrific front/back staff and kitchen. My compliments to the restaurant staff!The women's restroom is clean and spacious with 2 stalls.Definitely a must go on my list. More...
