MG just completed our new patio and we LOVE it!  After entertaining 3 competitive bids, I knew right away that I wanted to work with Michael because of the way he presented himself and how easy he seemed to work with.  He advised us on proper material selection and helped us stay on budget.  I visited a couple of referrals from recently completed jobs who also gave MG high marks and I was able to observe the quality of workmanship while it was in progress.  I got to "look under the hood" so to speak.  The finished product not only looks beautiful, but I know that underneath, it was built to last.  It may be worth noting that I have a degree in engineering and work professionally in the design/build industry so the structural part really matters to me.  Throughout the project, there was always great communication with Michael's office manager Natalie and his project manager, Ben.  Everyone on his team was professional and friendly.  The team would clean the workspace at the end of every day so that it looked presentable for the evening.  We were able to make a few minor plan modifications during the project which they accommodated without "nickel and diming" us.  There were a couple other small modifications that were covered by change orders, but generally we stayed very near the original budget and fairly near the proposed schedule.  All in all, I would gladly work with MG in the future and am please to give them a strong recommendation.  By the way, everyone who steps onto the property is blown away by the improvements to the property.  The finished product is gorgeous.  A sincere thank you to Michael and his whole team. Michael and his team were absolutely fantastic and MG Construction was the perfect company to take on our decking project and our driveway pavers! He and the crew were extremely professional, especially showing their dedication to customer service when we had a few unforeseen problems that affected the scheduling of the deck building (rain and a previous contractor's failure to install the proper drainage!) They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done properly and beautifully. We are so happy with the results! Michael and his team were exceptional from start to finish in the renovation of our backyard. The IPE deck they built looks amazing including built in benches and bars. A fire pit was also installed. MG Decks were one of three companies I invited to bid on my deck project in Bel Air. They were the most impressive company with lots of interesting work on their Instagram page, and their bid was the most competitive. Michael, who visited my property, had some very creative ideas, which was the main selling point. (I had never built a deck before). I still can't really believe this, but here are the facts: 1) They started the project on time 2) completed the work about a week EARLY 3) The final price came in not one dollar over the estimate. Michael is a man of his word, and you can't put a price on that.I am thrilled with the quality of the deck. The Trex material we selected has a 30-year warranty, and I've vastly improved the value of my home. They even hooked up the LED lights to our Smart home system, so we just say "turn the lights off" before we go to sleep. And the lights come on automatically when we come home. I very rarely take the time to write a review, so that says something exceptional about MG Construction. They just finished my project which was an assortment of jobs, repair and rebuild two deck trellises, new door for pool equipment compartment, new garbage enclosure with attached potting table, tiled and painted my art studio--a real mish mash of tasks. They handled them all and they all came out looking great. The office manager, Natalie,is efficient and they have very good follow up and checked in with me from time to time for feedback. So you know I am being honest,there were times where I thought they were not doing something the right way and each time they responded and did the right thing. They need supervision with gates and doors that need to be kept locked. That brings me to the best part -Vitor--the project manager. He is a delight to work with and very responsive to calls, texts, etc. He is flexible and will respond to change orders. One knows that in a renovation project, where a client's life is being disrupted, there may be times where the client gets frustrated, loses their temper and I applaud Vitor's interpersonal skills in dealing with these upsets. I think he understands that being really happy with a contractor involves a lot of communication and hand holding. More...

When we looked for the construction company to build our deck, we compared, we debated, we agonized, all because we wanted to see the tangible results of our vision.  We chose MG Construction for their diligence and interest in earning our business.  Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but certainly the BEST!Our project manager, Leo, could not have been more attentive.  He came every day to check on the progress, making sure we were satisfied with every step of the construction.  Our deck is made of "ipe" which is a Brazilian hard wood.  The finish is amazing!It has a flap that opens where we can push the jacuzzi cover in, then closes for a clean look.  The stairs have inset multi-colored lights.  It has a bench at the back for seating and storage, and a little storage cupboard in the front.  All that's missing is the canopy above the bench (to be draped from the cantilevers) and the seat pad.The photos speak for themselves. You hear so many horror stories about contractors and these guys were amazing. Absolutely pleased with MG Construction. We had to do repairs to our house due to a fire, as well as renovate parts of our outdoor space. Work included replacing an entire wall, replacing floors, putting new insulation in the attic, tile work, and lots of wood work outdoors. What I appreciated the most were:1. Leo (the account manager) was able to listen to our requests and provide very good suggestions that made our project a success. I have had contractors in the past that just do what you tell them even if it doesn't make any sense. Leo was able to gracefully direct us toward better options, independently of price. I never felt pressured to "buy more" but rather felt guided toward making the right choice.  2. Workers were excellent in general. I received compliments from the LA county inspector...doesn't happen every day! I would specifically call out the floor guys, as they were fast and perfect, and the wood guys who built a new fence and pergola flawlessly.3. I could also trust Leo to have our keys and manage the work while we were on vacation!4. They mistakenly broke a glass (happens) and immediately owned up to their mistake and fixed it at no cost.4. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. You can go -a bit- cheaper, sure, but you'll pay more in the long run.Highly recommend! More...

MG Construction is the best. From start to finish I was really pleased with all their work. The communication from the office was easy. Natalie was always there for me if I had any questions throughout the process. Michael came out to give me a quote for a replacement of my deck. My deck was old and was looking bad. Michael recommended for me to go with Azek decking materials because they are low  maintenance and I wouldn't have to do any upkeep to the deck. Michael was really great. It is clear he is very knowledgeable about his craft and takes his work very seriously. He was a joy to workwith. My deck looks amazing. I really couldn't be happier. I was so scared to do a remodeling project because I heard so many horror stories. I thought it was going to be a nightmare - instead, it was a dream experience. MG Construction transformed our backyard and we couldn't be happier. Michael has amazing design vision. i could not rate Michael, Melissa and the whole team at MG construction highly enough.
They have completely transformed our back yard to what is now our favorite space in our home.
we really had no idea what could be done with the large uneven out door space at the back of our house.... Michael came over and whipped up several different incredible designs for us to choose from, he was so helpful and informative making sure we knew all of our options including the layout, wood choices, shapes, colors etc etc.
Melissa and Natalie were updating us every day with the workers schedules and progress, what they would be doing each day, how many guys would be there. we always knew what was going on. Michael's team of very talented workers were so respectful of our home, we barely noticed they were there as they were so quiet, kind and friendly.
These guys are the best in the biz... our deck is a work of art. we went with a Brazilian tiger wood suggested by Michael and we could not be happier. the deck is pristine.
the MG construction team went above and beyond for us, they love what they do, they take pride in what they do and the result is a very very happy customer with an outstandingly beautiful deck. we will be using MG construction for all of our future construction needs. I had a rooftop outdoor kitchen project. I am the kind of person who has to do a lot of due diligence and research before committing to a project, especially of that size. I had close to 10 companies come and give me estimates on the project.MG Construction was not the cheapest, but given the importance of the project to me, I went ahead with the contractor who I was most comfortable with, and that gave me the confidence they could execute on the vision I had for my "dream" outdoor kitchen. I am a big foodie and I own a very successful food blog, so in a sense, this is my "work environment".MG Construction was able to accommodate my requests, and executed on the sketch I provided them. We had a great experience with MG Construction and in particular, our project manager Vitor. The whole team were lovely and helpful throughout the duration of our bathroom renovation. We really did feel that Vitor wanted us to be happy with the final result - he was always checking in to make sure that everything was going as we had hoped. If there was anything that needed alteration or additional work, this was completed without fuss which we appreciated immensely. We moved into an older home in August knowing that the kitchen needed to be redone.  We booked out 6 bids for contractors and ended up choosing MG Construction.  My husband met with Dan for the initial estimate and he was quite please how thorough Dan was with asking all questions and details that we never thought of.  Our time line was roughly 6 weeks and our kitchen was completed within that time range even with a few days set back with permit inspections. During the entire process, Dan our Project Manager was in constant contact with us, whether it be text, or telephone call or surprise pop ins.  The crew showed up every day without us having to ever doubt that they wouldn't.  We've remodeled the exterior on our previous home and that experience was less than stellar.   We're super pleased with how everything turned out,  there was always a quick resolution to any issues that came up and communication was always on point.  We plan on remodeling our bathrooms down the line and we'll definitely will be choosing MG construction as our contractor. I love MG Construction! My cousin needed new flooring at his house in LA. I requested a quote from MG Construction, got a response in about 2 hours, and about 3-4 hours later, my cousin had new floors! ! The people who do installations were super nice and super patient when I couldn't really describe the problem. We hired Michael and his crew to build a deck off of our 2 sets of sliding doors for a true, California indoor outdoor experience. They came through and did an excellent job. When we had a difference in opinion in how a drainage situation should be addressed, they had no issue with proceeding with the way that we felt was best even though it cost them more work in the end. I am so pleased and thrilled to have worked with MG Construction! The co-owner & project manager, Leo Ohayon, is a true visionary. I was interviewing a few contractors & he was the only one that gave me a vision for my bathroom that I didn't even have for myself. He also told me a crucial internal problem that no one else had pointed out. In the process of the work, as most renovations go, there were several problems that arose, partly due to the materials I had pre purchased before hiring anyone & partly due the structure of the bathroom. Leo's crew handled swiftly them with great solutions that added beauty & value to my space.
