Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) is minimally invasive, using a laser beam to relieve both the effects of varicose veins and the underlying cause. The bigger saphenous vein, little saphenous vein and side branches of the saphenous veins are treated with EVLA. The procedure is carried out according to ultrasound instructions which help the doctor to treat the area in question correctly and safely. EVLA only needs local anesthesia in an office with a mild pain and a rapid recovery period of less than one hour.

How Does It Work?

Your doctor will inject a little optical fiber with unheated valves directly into the vein during an EVLA operation, supplying laser light that heats some parts of the vein before it shuts. Almost immediately after the doctor removes the fiber optic the recovery process continues. The closed vein is reabsorbed into the body and the blood flow resumes naturally.

Sclerotherapy for spider veins and smaller varicose veins is called gold standard vascular medicine procedure. Sometimes used to treat malformed blood vessels, varicose veins, and hemorrhoids, this treatment usually requires around 10 minutes to administer, and several sessions can be sufficient to ensure full clearance of all troublesome veins and a full cosmetic outcome.

How does sclerotherapy work?

Your doctor will administer a medicated sclerosing remedy into your affected blood vessels. This inevitably allows the veins to shut down and continue to be reabsorbed into the body. Any larger veins can obtain duplex ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. Ultrasound is used to trace and image the veins, enabling the doctor to track the solution administered. Foamed sclerosing solutions are most commonly used in wider veins, since this provides a larger surface area to work with.

excel V+ Laser, or excel V+, is a revolutionary new technology that allows us to treat veins from the outside, with no need for any incisions or injections. Designed to minimize the appearance of small and medium leg veins, it uses highly targeted lasers to eliminate unsightly, unhealthy veins near the surface of your skin.

RFA is a varicose vein treatment option that uses pulsating radiofrequency energy to improve symptoms of vein disease. A vein specialist inserts a tiny tube into your unhealthy veins, using radiofrequency energy. Once the radiofrequency starts pulsating and emitting heat—none of which you will feel while under local anesthetic—the vein will immediately close and blood circulation will improve through your healthier veins.

A microphlebectomy is a minimally invasive procedure done under local anesthetic (numbing) that uses small, 2–3mm incisions on problem areas of the leg to permanently remove larger, twisted veins. Instead of just treating veins inside your leg, a microphlebectomy actually removes the specific veins entirely, allowing for immediate disappearance of bulging veins, increased blood flow to healthy veins, and overall leg pain relief.

Varithena is a foam medication injected into a vein using ultrasound guidance to pinpoint the precise area of need. This foam infusion causes the varicose vein to safely and gently close. Your blood then simply redirects through your surrounding healthy veins, allowing increased circulation and symptoms to improve.

VenaSeal is a specially formulated medical adhesive that is injected into a diseased vein via a tiny catheter using ultrasound guidance to pinpoint the precise area of need. With only a single injection required, VenaSeal is easy, safe, and effective. It has been proven in clinical studies to have a 99% success rate after six months, and is considered one of the best options for permanent removal of symptoms associated with varicose veins.
