We held our company Christmas party at Mermaids. Amazing experience. For as many people that attended the party (50-60 people) they kept the food and drinks flowing with plenty of staff. First time here. Corporate dinner. Large, private room. Excellent wait staff. Salad was tasty; the aged cheddar slices were perfect with the balsamic. Dinner was fantastic: red, mashed potatoes with just minute hints of potato skin; glazed, sliced, cooked carrots with honey, brown sugar, and butter; and butterflied chicken breast with capers and a lovely sauce. Carrot cake was selected for dessert-- superb. Moist but not soggy, and the frosting was whipped but not airy, and a slight creamy tang, but not too sharp. That is how a carrot cake should taste.
