I have been enjoying the food and the atmosphere at Mentomy for a few years now.The owner trains his staff to be very welcoming. The food is well above your average pub food fare. The drink pours are generous and on Thursday's there are some of the best local bands in the Greater Boston area playing there with no cover. Whats not to like? More...

My family gathering of 20 people had an outstanding evening. Super high compliments for the staff at all levels, from the owner to the chef to our servers, Kelsie and Joe. The two in my party who needed specific meals for dietary reasons felt fully listened to and respected, and they were happy with their meals. I have been here twice for brunch and the food was excellent both times. The brunch menu is limited with only 8 -10 breakfast options but the dishes are done well. I've tried the chicken & waffles and the breakfast sandwich. My boyfriend had the omelette of the day and my friends also had the chicken and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their food. The portion sizes were pretty big and the presentation of the food was very eye catching. The reason this is not a 5 star review is because the service was slow on both occasions despite that the restaurant was not busy. Perfect little rustic place. The design and decor really does a great job of making you feel like you're going to experience something different at this restaurant. The drinks were delicious from tequila mixes to bourbon mixes, and the food is absolutely phenomenal! From out of town and my friend suggested this place. It’s a great choice for brunch! I got the breakfast sandwich and she got the sandwich that was on special. It was grilled cheese with a poached egg and hollandaise on top. My sandwich had a fried egg, avocado, bacon, and tomato. The potatoes were perfectly done, crisp and seasoned well. My favorite bar in the Arlington, Cambridge,Somerville area. My favorite nights are Tuesday. Wednesday as well as Friday and Saturday nights. The bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable always willing to suggest a great food item and drink pairing to go with your meal. On the busiest of nights your glass is never empty and your food never cold. I've been going there for 5 years and look forward to seeing Rachael, Chip, Adriana as well as Christine . If the bartenders are not serving they are cleaning or restocking never stopping for very long. This place was pretty damn good. I honestly wasn't expecting much. For some reason, I don't know why.We were three people and we're seated today promptly. That kind of scared me at 6:30 PM on a Saturday. But, I figured I'd still give it a chance.We were seated in a nice table, near the kitchen which is an open concept. I love watching people cook like that. So that was a plus for me.Our waiter was stellar. I wish I knew what his name was because he was awesome but he had this great deep voice meant for television or radio. we ended up having the fried pickles, the fried homemade potato chips. Both were really good. The pickles weren't dill, they were half sour and I liked that.I had a burger,My cohorts in crime had the fish and chips, which was massive, and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were able portions and looked really yummy.My burger? Done to perfection and super juicy. Everything on it was great, I have to be honest though, the tomato jam? I could've used a little bit more. And I really liked the option of sweet potato fries as well.Downside? I don't like the fact that I had to order the side and it didn't automatically come with it. It makes the price kind of deceiving.And the other? The ladies bathroom was a mess. This restaurant was amazing. Right next to the Hilton hotel which was a perfect location. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. Very good selection of local craft beers and the food was exceptional as well. Food is well portioned so you definitely aren't hungry but you don't feel bloated and gross after either.
