Describe your creative process.
I start every design with hand drawn sketches. Whether for a client or my own products, I revise & refine my sketches until the shapes, lettering & overall composition are right. Then, I scan & create vector graphics of the design in Adobe Illustrator. I make any adjustments & add in color & accent details before finalizing the design for print or laser cutting.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
The most important details I need before starting a project are:
– what you need?
– how you plan to use it?
– when you need the final design &/or finished products?
– what quantity do you need, especially for physical pieces?
– do you have any ideas or inspiration for the design & layout?
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people to bring their ideas to life. There is nothing like feeling of seeing an idea that started in your head as finished design or product.
