Marcus is builds a great rapport with everyone, right out of the gate. He is a master of conditioning people who want to play the guitar, to WANT to play the guitar, and is really good at teaching beginners—making the dry and not-so-engaging basics into engaging lessons. My only dilemma, and the only reason I don’t study with Marcus anymore despite him being a great guy and fantastic teacher, was that his curriculum for advanced students (particularly if you are focused on jazz) is sometimes limited. Sometimes, this is great, because if your basics do slip, he notices and helps you course-adjust. But eventually, you might need more than he can give you.That said, Marcus will always hold a place in my heart as a great guitar teacher and mentor and I’m grateful to have been his student. Marcus is a fantastic teacher! After taking traditional guitar lessons elsewhere that were boring and stunted my growth, the approach taken by Marcus is fresh, progressive and fun! Scales for example that were mundane in the past are much enjoyable using Marcus’ innovative method. My granddaughter started studying with Marcus over 14 months ago. She loves going because he is very patient, thorough, encouraging. She likes it because she's been playing songs right from the beginning. Something she also likes is that he doesn't rush her out at the end of the class but will finish the discussion. She likes it because she's been playing songs right from the beginning and even started playing the ukelele last year. He regularly emails additional instructions, and has conference calls every month to participate as a group with Q&A. He is also always available by phone, and, something she likes is that he doesn't rush her out at the end of the class but will finish the discussion. Marcus Diaz is the best guitar teacher in this dimension. If you want to learn then definitely book a trail lesson with him and you will see for yourself. He doesn't teach you guitar... he teaches you how to become one with the guitar. Very friendly and optimistic. I would definitely recommend Master Your Guitar Academy if you want to be top guitarist. Marcus Diaz, owner of Master Your Guitar, is an excellent teacher. He is a master of his craft, he sincerely enjoys sharing his knowledge and he has outstanding communication and people skills. He can have you playing music, actual songs, from day one, even if you have never played guitar before. The lessons are fun and move quickly.
