We were at Massiminos before a Celtics’ game so the noise level was high. One member of our party was late, but they held the extra table for us even though there was a line of people waiting for a table which we appreciated. The food was amazing. My husband and I both got the specials and honestly the best meal we have ever eaten. Our service started out rough (a new employee took our drink order and never returned back to our table). Eventually we got another server who was AMAZING. He explained what happened, returned with our drinks immediately and did a fantastic job. Thanks Nick. We showed up earlier than our reservation and they took us right away. I was shocked because we were a party of 7. Our server was very friendly, patient and helpful in deciding on what to order. Everyone loved their entrees they got. The home made pasta is to die for! Also loved the oil the give you to dip bread in. Worth the effort to seek out this gem on the North End back streets. Extensive menu and unique specials. Red sauces we chose were savory and rich. We judge places by calamari: theirs was tender and flavorful w/fresh red sauce. Couldn’t give 5 *’s since one chicken cutlet slightly scorched on top but sauce made up for it. Small intimate seating and loud at times but felt like eating in a small Italian town family cafe. Treated like family and they made extra effort to honor our reservation time on a busy night. Exceeded our expectations. Tends to be noisy so you can't talk to your dining guest. Overall if you want a good meal, it's the place to go if your attending a td garden event.

We were in Boston for just one evening. We were celebrating our friends birthday, and wanted Italian. Did a search for restaurants close to our hotel and Massiminos popped up. Read the reviews and they did not disappoint. Location was perfect and close to hotel (Courtyard by Marriott - North Station). We were greeted by Nick who was so nice. Shared with us a little about the history of the restaurant and was excited that we were celebrating with them. Sat us at a great table upstairs. Very authentic and charming and felt like we were back in Italy. John was our waiter, very attentive. Served us promptly. He shared the very long list of specials (FROM MEMORY!!!) and made recommendations.My husband had the swordfish special, I had the lobster ravioli (YUMMMM!), our friends had another special and the linguini carbonara. ALL FOUR of US agreed, this meal was beyond EXCEPTIONAL and will forever be burned into our memory as one of favorites! Even the next wish we had another night as we would go back that day.
