Marriage By God

We participated in the Pre-Marital Marriage by God 6 years ago and then just finished the Marriage by God "Putting the Happily Into Your Ever After" program. Both curriculums are so well written and practical and applicable to daily life! Our pre-marital mentors and Marriage Tune-up mentors were excellent and really cared about us and strengthening our marriage. We highly recommend that every engaged couple go through the pre-marital. We also recommend doing the marriage tuneup whether you are struggling or not. It's good to do a refresher every so often to keep the flame going strong! Ed & Angie Wright (the creators of this program) are a BLESSING to all the lives they have touched throughout the world with their marriage ministry. During the hectic weeks leading up to our wedding, making the time to go through this program was the best time investment my then-fiance and I made. It reminded us of the bigger picture behind all the wedding-craziness and kept us Christ-centered and loving each other the right way. The program also helped us develop some crucial habits which we've already reaped the benefits from.My wife and I repeatedly talk about how fortunate we were to be able to go through this program and to have gained the tools to navigate our relationship. All of the material is extremely concise and practical, and we plan to review the lessons we learned regularly.The questions we had to answer were both thought provoking and challenging in a very good way. I also appreciated that everything was tied back to God and His Word, which is undoubtedly the MOST important element in any marriage.We also appreciate that Ed & Angie were extremely generous with their real life examples, by being completely transparent of the struggles between husband and wife. They openly shared things most other people simply don't talk about, but undoubtedly happen beneath the surface of every relationship.Lastly, the fact that this ministry is run by volunteers and we only needed to pay a nominal fee for the materials (the book itself is available online for free by the way) reveals that Marriage By God is truly a mission driven organization with the sole aim of making the world a better place one marriage at a time.I highly recommend this program to everyone who is either getting married or is already married. Wow! We couldn't have asked for a better way to start off towards a successful marriage. Ed and Angie were highly recommended by my soon to be sister-in-law and her husband. At the time, my fiance and I were not yet engaged but we were dating for 9 years already. We needed God to give us a sign that we were ready to take the next step and..... Ed and Angie was obviously the sign we prayed for! After a few sessions, I decided to propose to the SMART AND BEAUTIFUL, LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!! Although my fiance and I were best friends, we lacked overall communication and did not share similar goals about our future together (i.e., finances, raising a family, intimacy). For a VERY MINIMAL FEE, Ed and Angie provided EACH person a workbook and they assigned us independent homework assignments that covered crucial marriage topics (i.e., putting God in the center, resolving conflicts, family matters, finances, communication). We would discuss the assigned topics during our scheduled sessions (8-9 sessions total). With God's grace and the guidance provided from Ed and Angie, our relationship has grown so strong and united! We left every session saying, "Wow that was a wonderful session" and "I can't believe how affordable this was". We realized that our love for one another as well as for Ed/Angie developed more and more after every meeting!Finally, Ed and Angie also practice what they preach. Although they may appear to be the epitome of the perfect married couple, they honestly have admitted several times that they are human and face common marriage conflicts that God helps guide them through. Not only do we feel extremely blessed to have found this program, but we also have found life-long mentors, made long-lasting friendships, and built a family type of bond with Ed and Angie. Participating in the Marriage by God program was such a blessing for my fiancé and I. We loved our mentors! We liked that the program focuses on putting God first and gives you the tools and encouragement to do so. Additionally, we appreciated that we were mentored by another married couple. We loved going through the marriage mentoring program by Marriage by God. It was so great to go back to the basics after 12 years of marriage and remember all the things we love about each other and to not be so selfish in our marriage. My husband and I had been married only 6 months when we started this program. I found this program on Yelp and am so glad I did! We hadn't done any premarital counseling and were a little lost on the road to building a loving, Christ-centered marriage. Marriage by God truly changed our marriage for the better. It gave us the tools we needed in order to build a successful marriage that is founded in Jesus Christ. Our mentors were amazing and did not make us feel judged in the least as we shared the most intimate, personal details of our thoughts, fears, and pasts. I highly recommend this program to anyone.Being married is such a wonderful blessing and gift but it takes hard work and intentionality in order to keep the marriage healthy and "in the sweet spot." Woohoo! This marriage counseling is as good as it gets! Both creators and mentors within the program truly take interest and care of the couples within the program. We got more out of this than we originally thought we would. We recommend this to every couple! If you want to get your marriage started on the right foot this program is for you. It is very realistic and really sets you up for success and love. Ed and Angie set us up with the most relatable counselors. The program is awesome. As my fiance and I finished the course, our counselors told us that the workbooks were going to be updated soon. The course was perfect as it was but will def only get better. Our counselors were knowledgeable of the course and the materials and the fact that they took the course themselves only helped them counsel us at a more personal level. My fiance and I are getting married next week and def feel we have the tools and understanding that there is no "perfect" marriage, you just need to know how to grow and learn with each other. We honestly can't think of an improvement that could be said about the course. Whether you have a strong christian relationship with your spouse/fiance, this course will give you so much understanding of the other sex and how to make your marriage succeed, help you focus your relationship around God, and to keep your relationship fun! We were so blessed to have great mentors that really helped us prepare for our next step in life! Our communication skills improved greatly and were taken to a whole new level. We learned the right tools on how to work through challenges as a team and how to fill each others "love tank!" I was nervous starting this program, but once we met our counselors we quickly felt comfortable and relaxed. We felt nurtured and supported every step of the way and cannot imagine not taking this program before we get married. Our counselors were great examples of Christ and on top of that they were fun and caring! Ed and Angie have created an excellent program that targets all the facets of being married and have chosen great couples to counsel newlyweds. My husband and I signed up for marriage mentoring right after our 1 year anniversary.  We had begun to experience some communication breakdowns and needed help working through some life adjustments that were causing additional stress.  Both my husband and I didn't have much positive influence in regards to marriage in our families and we didn't know where to turn.  We were led to Ed & Angie's program through our church. It was such a relief to meet a couple who was eager to help us and pair us up with a mentor couple who could relate.  We took a brief family background questionnaire before meeting our mentors to ensure we could work with someone who could relate. We really enjoyed the opportunity to share our hearts on new levels and be given the Godly guidance that our own parents couldn't do. We recommend this mentorship for engaged couples or any length of marriage.  It was a blessing to experience this so early in our marriage and obtain the right tools to have a long, joyous and successful relationship! I had no idea what marriage would expose in my own self, and I'm so glad I had these tools to help me grow and learn.  I felt prepared, even empowered, to venture into the unknown world of marriage.  The communication techniques in particular, have been invaluable to me.  Conflict is inevitable, and instead of fearing these moments, I can now embrace them as opportunities to grow closer to my husband and learn more about myself.  It's incredibly important to explore so many areas of your life and your future BEFORE you promise forever.  This course will ensure that you and your spouse have the opportunity to dive into such things (in-laws, family planning, life style, finances, etc).and will guide you through any potential areas of conflict.  If you are engaged or considering engagement I can speak form experience that this class if necessary!  I know they also offer marriage  counseling, for those already married, and I can only assume it's just as enriching. I can't say enough about how awesome this program is. My wife and I went through Marriage by God just before getting married because we had heard so many great things about it. Our counselors were fun, flexible with our schedule, and were great at facilitating conversations between my wife and I to help identify potential problem areas in our future marriage, and to teach us how to love each other more every day.
