Had just started looking around for salons around noontime when I landed on some Groupons for the area. I decided to give some places a call, but Maria Francescos was the only one to take my call, and better yet - squeeze me in same day! I even mentioned that I was in the market for a wash, cut, and highlights... they still got me in for a 1:15! Unfortunately, my Groupon ended up failing so I missed out on the additional promo $25 off... but they still were able to accommodate by having me purchase the original groupon amount right through them.P.S. Lindsay worked my hair and did a fabulous job :) I walked in with a mess but she worked wonders Haha More...

Josie is absolutely amazing. I really wouldn't go to anyone but her for my Brazilians, and I'm not just saying that. I went to a different salon for my first ever Brazilian and it was an absolute nightmare. For my second ever Brazilian I went to Maria Francesco's and saw Josie. She made me feel so much more at ease and expressed that she was so sorry I had a bad experience at the last place I went, but assured me they were nothing like that. The salon is clean, I feel comfortable, and Josie very clearly knows what she is doing. Her waxes are less than 10 minutes in and out and I barely feel anything! Went in yesterday for a Brazilian wax with Josie. This was my second time getting it done, the first time I got it at a different salon and it was extremely painful. I found Josie's salon after reading all the great reviews on yelp, and I'm so glad I came. The whole experience was awesome and it barley hurt at all! I felt so comfortable getting it done with her and it was not awkward whatsoever. I already booked my next appointment and I know I will continue to come here for my waxing needs! I'm from out of town and was looking for a good place to get a hair cut for me and my husband. This place was easy to find off route 128. The moment we walked in the door the staff welcomed us and offered us something to drink. My husband's hair cut was efficient and looks very sharp! I decided to cut off my long hair into a bob and I'm glad I did. The hair cut was well styled and I even had a head massage during the hair wash! Really lovely! Over all a great experience. The place is clean and nicely decorated and the staff seem talented in a range of salon needs. Il be come back here on our next visit to MA. The first time I got a brazillian was with Josie. However, they were all booked today and in need, I went elsewhere. Now I have to say Im never doing that again! Their place is very clean. Their wax is a lot easier to deal with than the wax with the paper strips. Josie knows exactly where to press after taking a piece of wax off so to decrease the shock and pain. Shes very friendly which is great because its a great distraction to be talking. She's knowledgable and just all around great at her job. Highly recommend her! More...

Another awesome wax from Maria Francesco Salon & Spa!  I came here a couple of years ago before moving away and decided to get a brazilian wax here once I returned to the area.  This time Joanne did the wax and she was so sweet and did a great job overall.  I've had my fair share of waxing horror stories but she was able to deal with my sensitive skin without any problems and in a timely fashion as well.  I definitely recommend going there if you're looking for a really good wax at a really good price. Had a wonderful time at the spa.  I wanted to splurge and treat myself to a massage, haircut and pedicure.   And I am so glad I found these guys.  I will be coming back.  Great massage and haircut by Susan.  Nice little spa, very comfortable and lovely group of ladies I would enjoy just hanging out with.  Of course, being the giant klutz I am, as I ran off before my pedicure was dry,  I scuffed my big toe and messed it up.  I came back and Cinsia took care of that for me for which I was very grateful.  A very pleasant experience and I'm glad I found someone on the North Shore I can go to.  If you haven't tried them out, don't hesitate.  You won't be disappointed. Maria Francesco Salon is the best Salon that I and my 17 year old daughter has ever been too. The minute you walk in, you are greeted and made to feel welcomed all of the staff were FANTASTIC to us! !! My daughter had her hair cut by Cincia she is, I can not even describe it just so good!!! She took the time and explain what she was going to do ( my daughter has very curly at times unmanageable hair) and to make sure with both of us that it was ok. She also told what products to buy, and she wasn't telling us to get hers just to make a profit she was telling us what ones that would work with my daughters!! I can't say enough about Maria Francesco Salon & Spa. I've been going to Cinsia for about 5 years and feel so confident every time I walk out the door. She's so knowledgeable and talented at her craft. If you're looking for a stylist that knows their stuff and can help you find a new look, Cin is your girl!

Also, if you are a bride in the process of wedding planning, and looking for a salon that not only does killer hair, but runway quality makeup, I HIGHLY recommend Josie. She did my make-up for me and my entire wedding party (including my mother) and everyone looked stunning!

I have been to the Salon twice now and have been very pleased with the service. Josie is skilled at waxing, it had been months since my last Brazilian and she was quick. I never, ever yelp. EVER. But when it comes to this salon, I had too. Josie has been waxing me for years now and when I heard she and her sister were opening their own salon, I of course had to follow.  I'll never forget the first time I had an appointment with her almost 7 years ago at the old salon she was at (times flies!).  It was my first brazilian wax and she made it legit one of the most comfortable and non embarrassing experiences of my life.  I recently started having her do my facials. Is there anything she cant do !! Josie is just wonderful. She makes your time there fun and most importantly, totally not awkward.  I always joke with her and tell her the 15-20 minutes (yes, most thorough and quickest brazilian wax ever!) is like a little therapy session for me.  Her sister is great, also.  Always has clients in the chair.  Parking is a little tricky but I make it work because I seriously will not let anyone else wax me but Josie.  They have amazing prices and do absolutely amazing work!  I recommend Maria Francesco to everyone I know! If you're looking for a good wax on the North Shore, go here!I've been getting professionally waxed for several years and Josie at Maria Francesco is the best esthetician I've met. She uses wax that doesn't require muslin strips; it stings a lot less than other methods and it leaves my skin unbelievably soft and smooth. You don't have to explain to her what different waxing styles are. If you ask for a bikini wax you get a bikini wax; if you ask for a Brazilian, you get a Brazilian. She's incredibly fast yet pays attention to details. Also she's friendly and professional and really knows how to put you at ease. I found this place through groupon and lemme just say, thank god for groupon! Josie did my wax and she was very professional and nice. She made sure I was comfortable and kept making sure the wax wasn't too hot. The wax was different from other salons I've been to and it actually was a lot less painful. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone, especially if you usually can't stand the pain of a Brazilian wax. I even asked about the keratin treatment and she showed me a shampoo and conditioner that would help my hair (and wasn't as expensive as a treatment). Give this place a try. I went to the Maria Francesco Salon yesterday with my Mom for a "Day of Beauty." My experience was nothing short of spectacular. I have not ever been to a salon or spa and felt such personal, one-on-one attention. I was using a Living Social deal and feared that because I got such a great discount on the services, there might be a lack in service or time spent with me. But I couldn't have been more wrong.The highlight of the day was my hair cut and color. It is hands down the best haircut I ever had. I have a lot of thick curls, and most hair dressers are either afraid of the curls or simply suggest a trim. Not here. Chinzia (sorry if I'm spelling the name wrong) has similar hair to mine, so I knew I was in good hands. She gave me the best looking highlights ever, a fantastic trim, and then offered to blow out my hair for no extra charge. Most folks "offer" the blow out and then I see a huge up charge at the end. She took an extra 45 minutes to make sure every last curl was straight and perfect.My Mom and I are not used to getting pampered...this "day of beauty" was a first for us. But we were taken care of at every turn. I could not have been happier with how friendly, attentive and professional everyone affiliated with the service was. I wish I wasn't moving out of the area, as I would travel the 45 minutes to this salon for every hair cut, mani/pedi and facial! Thank you all for an awesome day. More...

I bought four "Groupons" for a "Day of Beauty" as a birthday celebration with four friends.   I booked all four appointments for a Saturday in April.  Our "Day of Beauty" Groupon included a cut, color and highlights, a facial, brow and lip wax and a mani/pedi for (I think it was) $95!  It was a tremendous deal.  At first I was a little skeptical.  This was a new salon and I didn't know anyone who had been to this salon before. I secretly thought to myself, "how bad can it be?"  I figured I'd get the facial and the manicure/pedicure but thought I would pass on the whole cut/color/highlight portion of the Groupon (that was where I figured real harm could come from someone who didn't know what they were doing!) or at least I'd let one of my girlfriends go first!I started the day with the facial while Trish got her hair cut and Wendy had her pedicure (Julie sipped on coffee and waited just a bit).  I've had many facials before and this one was one of the best.  It was utterly relaxing (read unrushed) and very obvious therapist really knew her stuff!  It turned out that she had worked for many years at Elizabeth Grady and was completely up-to-speed on everything from products to skin types and sensitivities.  My facial finished-up and I returned to the main hair salon to catch a glimpse of what was happening to Trish in the stylist's chair.  All I can say it - OMG - what a transformation!  The color, the highlights, the cut and the blow-out were absolutely fantastic.  I immediately decided that the stylist not only knew what she was doing but was completely fantastic.  I nixed my idea of "skipping" the hair portion of the Groupon and was next in line in her chair.  By the end of the afternoon, all four of us had been cut and buffed and pampered perfectly!  It was an awesome day and we were all 100% happy with our new do's, our fresh faces and our pampered piggies.Maria Francesco Salon & Spa may not be the most extravagant salon you'll find on the North Shore. However, it is very comfortable and the two sisters who run the business are as smart as they are nice and, most importantly, hey know there stuff!   My girlfriends - one from Salem, one from Exeter, one from Nantucket and me from Newburyport, have all said that we will be back!Meanwhile, thanks to the owners for making me look like a hero picking out a great way to celebrate a birthday with friends! I went here for the first time recently and got a mani/pedi. The two sisters who own the salon are very nice and friendly! I enjoyed talking with them as I got my nails done. My nails and toes came out really good, except my nails did start to chip only a couple days later. I guess that happens with regular polish though I wish it didn't happen so fast!
