After doing some research I decided on Mandy's for a much needed trim because it's near my home, the reviews are good and the prices are decent. They also offer a "haircut only" price which is exactly what I needed. I have long, curly hair and normally get a dry cut. I didn't need a blow out or any other service. I've gotten wet cuts in the past but generally have a hard time finding someone who can deal with my hair so I always just get the cut and leave with it wet. (My curls and I have come to an understanding over the years.)I made a same day appointment with Orian. I arrived 10 min early and they took me right back to the shampoo area. Points for no wait time!!The shampoo lady was really friendly and did a good job. I would have liked a stronger wash but that's my preference. (My mom is a retired hair stylist so my scalp is used to a through scrubbing!) She tested the water temp to make sure I was comfortable with it then washed my hair twice before conditioning it. No complaints. I then went to the chair with Orian and she asked me what I wanted. I told her that I like my hair long and asked her to trim just the dead ends. She nodded and went to work. It was strange to me that she was so quiet. I find that most stylists are quite talkative but she did a good job and I prefer that over chatter any day! Overall she just seemed quiet and not very confident. But again, she was nice and did a good job so I'm not complaining! NOTE: Shout out to Mandy for paying attention to Orian and me even though she had her own client! I love business owners who are involved. More points!!NOTE: you can't tip on credit card and they don't take Amex so bring cash, Visa or MasterCard. :) NOTE: When I arrived, a client walked up to pay and the guy in the front told her there was no charge for whatever she had gotten done. She asked for change to tip the stylist anyway. Translation: happy customer. Also, there was a woman there whose hair looked FABULOUS when she left. Translation: another happy customer. This is my favorite hair salon! I do my highlights every six months and rarely where I find a hair dresser who can get me the color I want! Finaly I found Mandy's hair salon! I just have to show them a picture, and they assure they can do it! All employees are very nice and kind they make sure you are satisfied and happy with your hair before you leave! I was recommended to Mandy's salon by my coworker who goes here every time she does her hair and I can't thank her enough for telling me to go here. The locAtion is a little far for me because I live in queens but the drive is so worth it. The quality of their work is fantastic and their hospitality was great too. I was so happy with my experience today ... i needed a hair cut so bad and i was looking for a place that would do it with respect and confidence (Since i had let me hair get so bad). Â That was exactly what they were everyone was so warm and welcoming from asking me if i wanted anything to drink to taking my jacket. It's been forever since I left a salon happy! The ladies at Mandy's are all so nice! Â I came in for a haircut after work. Sasha was my stylist, she took the time to listen to me- and gave my blah curls life again . Â I wanted a style I could wear both straight and curly, she recommended longer layers. I have been losing a lot of hair due to illness, and the lack of volume was upsetting to me. Â Well I couldn't be happier with my hair now... my curls are light and beautiful. My daughter loves this salon. Both times we've been here they do an amazing job of straightening her curly hair. I love this place because they don't burn her hair and it lasts! I’ve been coming to Mandy’s hair & spa for about a year now. In the past I’ve always box dyed my hair because I would not feel comfortable going into salons based off my experiences, which some places can come off intimidating. I was tired of doing my own hair and researched places based off good reviews and that’s where I found Mandy’s. Every person on staff is incredibly talented and so kind. The salon is clean and cozy and they play the best music! Appointment booking is easy and availability is great. So I've had the same salon for years and I've always gotten a bayalage. I've recently moved and came across this cute salon. First off, I want to say the staff is amazing and sweet. The environment is also very welcoming. I went in wanting a bayalage and paid for a bayalage and It looks like I got highlights and everyone else says so as well. Sasha is very talented though and I would still recommend her. Even though I didn't really get what I want it, the color itself is nice. This place is amazing! Everyone is so kind and professional. Welcomes you with a drink and does your hair exactly how you want. Had my hair bleached and toned here twice already and would never go to anyone else. Recently had my roots bleached since my hair grew out and I loved it but wanted it more blond so they were able to fit in into the schedule 2 days later to fix my hair (with no extra charge) and now it’s perfect! Mandy and her staff did and amazing job and amazing customer service through the entire process. I found Mandy's Hair Salon on Yelp as i was going through a crisis. I was going away in 2 weeks and last minute decided i wanted to try hair extensions for my trip. Mandy wrote to me right away and had me come in for a consultation. She explained the type of extensions they do which are tape in and i hadn't even heard of it but she was so informative. We ordered the hair and scheduled an appointment for when they were scheduled to arrive. I went in and it was seamless. I fell in love and may be addicted! The hair matched perfectly from color to texture and i have very thin hair but you could not see the extensions. No one notices unless i admit i have them in. Such a great experience ! Appointments are easy to make I called on a Tuesday and was able to get an appointment for the same week Saturday. My stylist was Dilia she did a icy grey blonde full head balayage. Sonia assisted her with the process. Both women are very sweet , down to earth and know they're stuff ! Omg the results were beautiful ! I was so scared going in I had never been to the salon and it was a dramatic change in hair color for me. Everyone there is so sweet , attentive and professional. The entire process took about 5 hours ( I have a lot of hair )but worth it. Everyone helps each other out and everyone is there to provide a good experience for the customers as during my time at the salon I was alway checked on and made sure I was comfortable.
