How long have you been interested in magic?
I started doing magic in the 6th grade. By the time I was in high school I was entertaining at children's birthday parties. After graduating high school I went to work with a traveling magic show; The Ken Griffin Magic & Illusion Show. It was a two hour family show that toured the US between Florida, California and New York. After a year with the Griffins I went to college, received my business degree and in 1980 went into performing as a full time professional magician. To this day i travel over 100,000 miles a year in the air performing at events across the country.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
You can expect to hear people laughing, see them interacting, and being amazed. Most of all you can expect your guests to have a memorable, fun time at your party. AND IT DOESN'T STOP THERE! Clients have told us that for years after the party, inevitably someone will mention the area time they had at your party because you hired Al The Only.
What do you love most about your job?
The audiences. The people. I love to under promise and over deliver. Seeing the looks in the eyes of my audiences, listening to the laughter and experiencing the sheer delight of their feelings as I entertain them, makes the magic happen. I love to make memories. Meeting an individual years after the fact and have them tell me how special I made them feel or how I made the event special for them is the reason I do this.
