Exemplary. Their pumpkin praline mousse is perfect. Super rich, creamy, and flavorful without being too sweet. The pralines are neat too. I'm used to them being almost candy coated, but these much more subtlety flavored and complemented the mouse and whipped cream really well. Their fries are spot on as well. Damn, damn good fried chicken. The sandwiches are huge and filling. Respect the spice levels - medium still has a good kick. Usually go for original - the other 3 or so I've tried have been good, but the original is just perfect.

Every now and then a bit of a wait (say 20ish minutes for carryout max), but if you've got a few folks ahead of you that's just how it goes. Call ahead if you're in a crazy rush, but it's definitely worth waiting for. More...

I got the Tuesday Taco's and they were excellent. The slaw and sauce were very flavorful. Chicken fries were tasty. The Bao bun needed to be steamed more, but maybe that was because we showed up so close to the end of the day.

Best fried chicken north of Kentucky! Perfect crunch, and even breast meat is so tender and juicy...wow!
Biscuit/"donuts" are TO-DIE-FOR, but are pretty rich. ..more of a dessert than a biscuit...best shared with a loved one.

This place is great. The fired chicken and waffles are outstanding! I’ve ordered from here at least four times now. The sugar that they put on op of the chicken and waffles is great! However the Parking situation there isn’t that great. Parking is very limited. Also the location isn’t the best, it’s right on a corner. Finally the hours aren’t my favorite either. I understand it’s a small joint, but it would be great if they stayed open longer. I definitely hope they stay open longer later on and I’ll definitely be back. More...

Hands down, best fried chicken in the area. It's super crispy, juicy and flavorful: all that fried chicken should be. I love the addition of the sandwiches, which are HUGE and serve as two separate meals for me. They keep the menu fresh with new offerings like the tacos (also huge and sooooo good) and the "Employee Sandwich", which changes week to week. You should trust me and go to Ma Lou's in Ypsilanti! We loved it. My partner had the spicy chicken with fries and slaw & I had the regular chicken with potato salad. 5 stars from both of us! The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The potato salad was unique which normally turns out bad but it was great. The price was very affordable too. We went because I ruined dinner, I have never been so happy that I messed up a casserole!!! More...

Gave this place a second shot after not being very impressed the first time. The chicken and waffles were amazing, and the fries were a very large serving. Make sure to get at least a little heat on the chicken (I think that was my mistake the first time) and don't be shy and ask for sauce if you need it.
