I have seen Sarah at Lush 35 twice and love her! She listens closely to what I would like done, she’s knowledgeable and informative, she’s extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Over the years I've had to move on from different hairstylist's I liked, run from ones I hated but Sarah is the best communicator I've ever had. I went in two months ago after finding out my last stylist had moved from the place I went to and couldn't find her, I went with lush for the gender neutral pricing and good portfolio pictures. Sarah was the next available of my choices and when I went in the same day she talked with me about what I wanted. Being our first time, she was conservative and super reassuring, as all curly heads appreciate. When I kept asking for more and more off she was absolutely awesome about it, she didn't make me feel weird at all for my overt participation in the process. It was almost to the point of annoying how well she responded to my wishes and made sure we were on the right page, which was the absolute best first visit anyone could ask for. She had a great look from my original idea and took my adjustment requests with the most pinash and respect I've ever seen. I went in to see her again today, and enjoyed as much reassurance, respect and communication. She knew I didn't mind taking more off and we went with a more edgy look straddling the line between professional and fun and I love it to bits. Last but certainly not least, being a student I don't have the most flexible spending, but the price simply can't be beat. I gave her a 30% tip today because she earned it of course, and I feel criminal getting such good care for so little money. Even with a large tip I know I got the better end of the deal. I found my favorite stylist, and since I don't come in very often (full schedule and forgetful) I need y'all to love her just as much and keep her gainfully employed. More...

I love going to lush because it has such a community feeling. All the stylists are lovely and I love that the color bar is a long table so you can chat with other people if you'd like. I've never had a great experience at a salon, either in cut or color. Everything I had ever received was good or just okay. Every experience felt too pricey for the end result. My friend referred me to Lush 35 after I told her my previous experiences. She has a lot of experience with hair and salons after having gone through cosmetology school herself, I figured if she loved their services and atmosphere, then I'd probably be satisfied. I called in and spoke with Melanie who was really sweet on the phone. I told her my concerns and she scheduled me with Tessa, one of their senior stylists and a color expert. I arrived early for my appointment, but everyone was really nice, offered me a seat and a drink. The salon itself is very clean and has a welcoming ambiance. I met Tessa and she asked me what I was looking for. We talked through my concerns, my past experiences, what my end goal was with cut and color, and she got right to it. She double checked the color selection with me before applying it to my hair. I felt really comfortable during the whole experience and wasn't nervous at all.When it came to cut and style, I hadn't seen the application yet. Once I sat in the chair and saw the color, I got really excited! It was looking really good! Tessa was great through the cut, let me know what needed to get trimmed and didn't take off more than she suggested. Overall health and length are my top priorities so this was really reassuring. The products she used were great and she showed me how to use them/what they're for. She blew it straight and curled it a bit to give it a relaxed wave. I was blown away by how amazing the color was with my skin tone. It was a total transformation.I was worried it would be $200+ for the end result, but it was $130 for everything! I'd give Tessa and Lush 35 more than 5 stars if I could. I will definitely be going back, and don't feel the need to find a "better" salon experience because this was it!
