Kristen did an amazing job with our wedding this past November! Our colors were pretty basic, black tuxes and gray dresses, and she did an amazing job taking the ideas in my head and making them happen. I loved that she pulled ideas together on Pinterest so I could easily see what she was talking about and had an easy to follow pricing spreadsheet that she updated promptly when there were changes. Kristen did a fantastic job giving us a bouquet that felt special. She also prepared nice arrangements for the railings leading up to the gazebo where we had our ceremony, as well as on the tables during the reception. Kristen is professional and works well around unforseen circumstances. It was raining before our ceremony and she set everything up during the bad weather. She works hard to make sure everything looks perfect and unique and we were very satisfied with everything she did. Would especially recommend her for anyone wanting locally sourced flowers. More...

After seeing her portfolio I just fell in love with her artistic style and left all the decisions like style, colors etc into her hands.
I could never imagine having berries in my bridal boquet if the ideas were up to me! Those berries especially put a big smile on my face!

What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with the seasons. I plant seeds, prune, and forage, then harvest an a bounty that reflects the client's vision, our geographic time and place, and my excitement about marrying all of the elements.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been botanically-obsessed. Lunaria Gardens has allowed me to share my joy of the unique, wild, and special qualities of plants with others.
Why should our clients choose you?
We honor locality, seasonality, and humanity. Most florists fly flowers in from overseas, where it is produced with questionable agricultural and labor practices. We instead have a deep reverence for the seasons and their botanical offerings. We grow, forage, and source from our urban farmer neighbors. So choosing us supports Philadelphia habitat, pollinators, economies, and human relationships.
