Being a good photographer means capturing the essence and soul of the subject or the moment being photographed. This is hard to accomplish since the camera can detect fakeness easily and if your subjects are uncomfortable or too self aware you end up capturing people with insincere, frozen smiles and awkward poses. This is where Lucie's talents excel. She not only has an exceptional knowledge of the technical side of photography, may it be camera, lenses or lighting, but most importantly her personality and genuine friendly nature puts everyone she works with right at ease, making the photoshoot a fun and enjoyable experience. What do you love most about your job?
I love trying to read the subtle expressions in people’s faces. I love their unpredictability, their unique differences, and who they become in front of my camera. Photography is my way of capturing an aspect of their character and recording the instant in which they reveal themselves. Sharing my photography allows me to show others how I see the world so that they can see it too.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion for photography originated in my father’s veins. He had an old vintage camera which was my first and favorite toy, and I grew up exploring life through its lens. When I was thirteen, I officially began developing prints for both myself and other people. My room was so small that I turned my family’s bathroom into a darkroom. Owning your own business is never easy, but being able to do what I love every day makes it all worth it.

One reason that I cannot emphasize enough is simply that professional photography GETS RESULTS.
As to why they should choose me in particular, I try my best to guide my clients to the best shots through a collaborative effort. I believe in working with my clients until we are both completely satisfied. I also provide the option of convenient resources such as a myriad of stylists to help you look your best.
The most gratifying part of my career lies in the moments when my photos enable my clients to see themselves in a new light. I like to discover the lioness that lies hidden behind the eyes of a kitten or the lone wolf deep in the man. Witnessing and helping to actualize these self-discoveries really adds a sense of fulfillment to my work that I don’t think I could get anywhere else. My mentality guides all the photo sessions with Lucie Aleks Photography and my clients respond to it.
