A nice Indian restaurant to be able to visit and sit and relax with your friends and family. The service was adequate the Stafford Pleasant. The restaurant environment itself was nice and roomy. And the food was actually really good. Probably my biggest complaint is that we did ask for a little bit of spice headed to her food and it was never added. Now on we did bring this up to the waiter eventually he did come back out with sauce that did have the spice in it and made it nice and warm but it was after we already ate and it was sort of pointless at that time. Never offered to take a couple bucks off for meal or anything like that. But regardless the rest of the food was delicious and saving a lot of sustained visit with friends for a while afterwards. They weren't super busy so it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the environment. More...

Always incredible meals served. The owner takes pride in his dishes and they are absolutely incredible. You can tell he cooks with love. The lamb is the best I have eaten ANYWHERE in Philadelphia, ever. They are also very kind and make sure youget a very generous amount of food. Anywhere else these lamb dishes would cost a lot more. Thanks for another INCREDIBLE meal!! From Mario, and Dominic. I always get extra lamb because it's that good. More...

This place was really good and very friendly family restaurant. The manager was wonderful and able to accommodate my 6yr old nephew with very picky taste buds and my nephew loved whatever chicken concoction they came up with! The curry and the saag were really yummy :) also great cheese and garlic naan! More...

Being frank after trying two other Indian restaurants,I had very low expectations from this one as well. But to my surprise it is the place worth repeating. I ordered chana masala n poori, mango juice. It just reminded me of sumptuous Indian Desi flavours. It was also convenient on the prices and superb on palate. Would love to explore more vegan dishes. Tasty food, good atmosphere, and the employees were very kind. Plus, if you're looking for a nice sit down dinner on the later side of Saturday night, they are open later than a lot of places.

I'm normally not one to go out for Indian- but man was I impressed! My friend and I went in for brunch and I got the seafood thali and she got the non veg one. The shrimp was served in a cream sauce, and I just didn't want the food to end! I was trying to find things to dip stuff into the sauce!! The rose mimosas were a good addition (albeit dangerous) to the meal. Definitely will be back to try other items! More...

It was new years on a cold night looking to warm up that me and a friend decided on trying Lovash. We have always talked about going to eat indian food and heard many stories of how it would mess your stomach up and let me tell you this food one of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure of having. This is a family owned business and got to speak with the owners son and they are hard working and every dollar. The style on the outside looks like you may have to dress up to have a seat but that is not the case, if you have the time to stroll on south street come here to have to have your mind blown! More...

It is new year's Eve ending 2017 me and my buddy Julian parked and walked South Street in preparation for the fireworks at pens landing. Freezing cold me and him look for shelter in a time where we have never had Indian food before. So hey why not let's go here. As soon as we walk in we were greeted with a warm smile and a very great welcome. This 22 year old man so happy to work at his father's restaurant on New year's eve. His name was mayank. He was so helpful in recommendations and making sure me and my friend had a good Indian food experience. He laughed with us. Made us feel at home. And walked us through every step of the way.Food: never having Indian food I've always felt some type of way from hearing people explain how it's too spicy and you might end up in the Lou for too long. But let me tell you something. This food was superb. Just the right amount of flavor. No "afterburn" in the bathroom. Every bit of this was amazing. We ordered two apps one was the lamb kababs and the other was the shami. They were both dine very well and the sauces that come with them were just as good. My friend Julian had a fried rice with chicken and yogurt and the flavor of the amount he shared to me was amazing. I had the chicken Tikka marsala and holy Lord in heaven it was so very good. The decor: although mayank said he wished it was more new decor I enjoyed the classy feel of it. The table cloths and the small chairs left the room feeling big and the bar in the middle made a great touch . Overall: every part of this was first Indian food experience could not have been done any better then what mayank and his father did for us. Our complements to the chef! More...

We just wanted something light before a show at nearby T L A and boy were we treated right. We had 2 appetizers soup and a Nan and loved it all. Especially enjoyed the scallop starter and the mulligatawny soup. All choices were a perfect mix of expected and punctuated tastes. Also owner was fun and personable despite a pretty full house. Go and enjoy. More...

Wonderful neighborhood Indian restaurant with a full bar. The owner/chef is very friendly and accommodating of vegan, gluten free, and other dietary requests. Anything done in the tandoor oven is particularly good and I also liked the butter chicken, vegetable korma, and palak-paneer (spinach with cheese). Leave room for something sweet like the gulab jamun (pastry balls in syrup) or rusmalai (sweet cheese with rosewater). More...

This is probably the best Indian food experience I've had in my life :) The atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was delicious. I was wary about ordering the crab appetizer from an Indian place (I'm a Marylander so I know a good crab dish), and was mind blown. It was an affordable meal. The food took quite awhile to come out, but it was definitely worth every minute. I'll be back. More...
