Oooohhhhhh. So good! We took my mom out for a birthday dinner and we needed: 1) gluten free options, 2) good Mexican food, and 3) unique "foodie" options. Low Somebreros fit the bill with the added bonus of killer margaritas, stellar service, and great ambiance on the outside patio. It was a rare, super-cold evening and they had ample heaters and fire pits that allowed us to enjoy our meals without having to be bundled up in coats & scarves. We had 3 different types of tacos (all delicious), tortilla soup (yum!!), 2 different types of margaritas (MMMMMM!!!!), some seafood crepes (only thing I wish had been different - smelled and tasted a bit like not-fresh fish), lemonade, hibiscus tea, elote, guac... and the service we received was among the best anywhere. We will 100% be back!! After a Saturday visit to the Desert Botanical Garden, we took a short drive to Los Sombreros for lunch. We were not disappointed with our choice. We were able to order from the brunch menu. The house guacamole was outstanding. My wife and I both had the shrimp omelette, which was very tasty. My daughter enjoyed her chicken tacos. My sons ordered lunch dishes and were both happy with their meals. The service was good and our waiter was friendly. More...

A bit pricey, but if you get a bottomless mimosa during brunch and hang around on the outside patio, it's worth it. Good food, not all the same boring dishes you'd find at most Mexican restaurants. I always leave after brunch so full that I don't need to eat again that day! More...

I rediscovered this restaurant yesterday after being out of Phoenix for a few years. We had street tacos and posole at the outside bar with Tijuana Donkeys and Stevearitos, their own drinks. Great fun talking to the patrons and the bartender. More...

Drop by here with a few friends and I have to say that it was pretty cool. I eat a lot of next again pretty regularly and I've been to a ton of Mexican places in the Phoenix area and I can deftly say this place is definitely up there with most of them. I just had the basics some chips and a burrito. It's all good and the food was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. More...

Great upscale Mexican spot. If you're looking for cheap Mexican food to go, this isn't it. However, the price you pay for quality is worth it. Waiters are responsive and quick, continually refilling drinks and bringing back more chips and salsa (bottomless!). The food is excellently presented, well, as excellently as Mexican cuisine can be presented. Everything was delicious, from the tamales to the enchiladas. And there's a view of the kitchen, so you can see the chefs in action, if you wish.Overall, great quality Mexican spot. Will visit again when I'm in the area. More...

I really had a nice time at this restaurant it's a small little Mexican place in Scottsdale and I have to say that the service was good and the food was very very good. I didn't have anything too complicated just a quesadilla and some tacos and they were very very good and quite tasty. The crowd was pretty cool and everybody was pretty happy after dinner. I would recommend checking this place out for sure. More...

Not much to look at from the street side, but dont let that fool you. It has a somewhat awkward entrance from the rear and through the kitchen area, but once in, very comfortable. Very nice hostess guided us to our table and introduced our server. Server was outstanding, Yolanda. Salsa and chips were perfection. The menu is not your burrito joint fare. Authentic and delicious food, served rapidly. Back yard bar and a little pop up bar in the back look like fun hangouts. More...

We found this place on Yelp. We were visiting from out of town and meeting some friends, so strictly going off ease of finding it, and food reviews. We were not disappointed! I wasn't impressed the first time I came in after being disappointed by an experience well over 6 years ago. I was granted an opportunity to check it out again, the event offered a wider spread than I had previously had the chance to taste. This happened to be a day I was okay with pork and goodness, am I ever glad that was the case. The carnitas was delicious as was the coco loco margarita!Since it was a private event, I didn't want to base that experience on an update to my review, I took my son in for dinner last week. I've since been back a second time. My son throughly enjoy the carnitas entree and though he didn't manage to eat it all in one sitting he did enjoy it the next day wrapped in a tortilla. We shared the ceviche, fresh crisp, delicious and I went for the black bean veggie tacos mmm, so good. This weekend, I had a hankering on for a shrimp cocktail and well, they nailed it and those black bean veggie tacos again. Admittedly, the salsa that comes with the chips isn't currently my favorite but it doesn't seem to prevent me from eating it all nonetheless. Yea, they got me, for sure.On a side note, there was a bit of a mix up with payment due to a coupon I had. Adam, the owner was very patient with resolving my issue and that speaks volumes as well. I also don't put the mix up on the establishment but the professional way in which it was handled. More...

Truly remarkable place. Met the owner, Adam. We spent a good deal of time chatting with him. Guacamole is original. Radish in a fresh blend. Easily the most creative I've ever eaten. Sauces, meats, presentation, all bursting with flavor. Staff is interactive and friendly. Stevearita. Don't ask. Just order it. If there were 6 stars I'd rate Los Sombreros at that. Fabulous More...

Very high-quality food, price is a tad bit high, but again the food is very good! They also have Casa Noble in the bar, which is hard to find. Your gonna pay for it, 13$ for a shot, but it is tasty! The outdoor venue is great and the bar is outside as well. Enchalidas are spot on the and soup was very hearty and tasty! Barkeeps super firendly and make great margaritas! More...

Los Sombreros never disappoints. I'm usually the one who orders tacos, the crispy tacos are so good, doesn't matter what's inside, try all the fillings and flavors. This time was different. First, it was too chilly to sit at the bar where we usually sit. It's so pretty to sit outside in this little outdoor oasis in the midst of suburbia. So we sat inside and I was reminded how much I love the quaintness of this place. Inside you're no longer in Scottsdale, you're somewhere in old Mexico. The meal starts as usual with the warm corn tortillas and perfect salsa to enjoy while pretending to study the menu. Like I said, I usually order the tacos. But this time, since we were sitting inside instead of outside I decided to keep breaking tradition and I ordered the crab enchiladas. I shake my head at what I've been missing by sticking to my favorite tacos. So Good. I loved the fresh tortillas, the chunks of crab meat, the sauce. I even loved the sauteed vegetables. I didn't love it all just because it was so good. It was so much better because of the ingredients. None of which turned into a stomach ache later. For those of you with iron stomachs this won't matter to you, I know, I was you once. This message is for the sensitive stomachs: First, I know what you're going through and second, you can eat here and be able to enjoy the rest of your day, you know what I mean.We brought home a dozen tamales, chicken, pork, and chili and cheese. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Parties if you're willing to share. More...

Not a fan of thin chips, but the main course of shrimp chilaquiles was interesting and had good flavor. All the shrimp is buried under a bunch of cabbage and pico, but I found at least eight down there to enjoy. Also, very good rice.

I went to Los Sombreros recently with a large business group, so we were seated outside where the night air was clear and cool and we were able to enjoy a nice meal while talking to folks about things both within the business atmosphere and outside. One thing to be aware of when sitting outside is that if you are under a tree, it is possible that birds nesting above you may be adding to your meal... just be forewarned! As we were a corporate group, plenty of drinks and appetizers were spread out amongst us, and we were able to sample just about everything on the menu when it comes to appetizers. All of them were excellent, and I recommend the shrimp cocktail or homemade ceviche!Seeing as it was a sponsored event, I went for it and got the lamb shank for my main dish. It too was excellent, and I loved every bite. The dish is not the most popular out there, and they are not using Australian lamb, but it was still quite good. Our servers were also great, and were happy to help us out. Sometimes you may run into a language barrier, but those that are not very solid with English immediately go and get servers that are fluent, so no problems there. More...

Someone suggested we try this place so we did - glad we went! The food was delicious, the portion sizes were totally fair, and the only disappointment was that the first two things my boyfriend tried to order, they were out of. He was disappointed (hence the four stars) but it was during restaurant week, so not too surprising. My dish was a little spicier than I expected but still eatable and delicious. More...
