Lori had the almost-impossible task of creating a group image of 30 people (including 6 babies) at a 65th anniversary celebration and pulled it off beautifully. She also captured lovely photos of individual family groups, along with memorable moments at the party. I had such an amazing photoshoot session with Lori! This was my first underwater photoshoot and I was feeling very anxious. Lori was fantastic in both her professionalism and caring manner. She explained everything in detail and went at a pace that met my comfort level. Before I knew it, I was sinking underwater and feeling confident! This was my first time ever doing this kind of shoot/maternity underwater shoot and I can say it was the best experience ever. Lori was very nice and friendly. She love the work she do and is very serious about it. Yet she is very goofy and bubbly you can talk with her and have fun and be comfortable while being professional. I cannot speak highly enough of Lori! My daughter loves working with Miss Lori and is so excited to work with her again.
In fact, she keeps asking when she gets to go back. What really stood out while watching Lori work with my almost 7 year old, was that she took the time to ask if my daughter had any ideas that she wanted to create. Miss Lori incorporated those ideas, listened and made my daughter feel important in the process of creating.
The session was personalized to my daughter's likes and interests. In fact, Lori helped her live out her idea of being a real, live, swimming mermaid! The look of enjoyment on my daughter's face will forever be etched in my memory. I can't wait to see what magic they continue to create over the years. We will definitely be working with Lori again in the years to come--without hesitation and with so much love in our hearts!

My husband and I were quite sceptical about the photographer when we decided to have a maternity photoshoot,we chose Lori because of close proximity to our home however after our first meeting at her place for our photoshoot we learnt that she was very friendly and caring. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photograph is lighting. Knowing where light should be placed to create shadows, highlights and definition are key. I use a fill light when outdoors and several in studio.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The questions I definitely ask my clients are, why are you seeking a professional portrait photographer? What is your desired outcome? This one is difficult but try to have a budget in mind.
What would you spend to capture the timeless moment in your life, so that not only you and your family may enjoy but that can be passed down for generations to come?
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is that it is not a job for me. I was a nurse and loved it but gave it up to become a professional portrait photographer.
I love seeing people and the world through my lens and capturing precious moments that an iPhone can not. I also love meeting people from all walks of life, and building relationships, building trust.
What inspired you to start your own business?
What inspired me to start my own business was that the medical field started becoming more about paper and requirements and less about what I loved to do, take care of my patients. I had been photographing landscape for 4 years but that all changed when my daughters friend asked me to photograph her newborn baby, oh the sweetness and snuggles! Of course with newborns, maternity is a pre-cursor..haha, and I fell in love with maternity. My ability to understand my camera, creating silhouettes, over powering the sun when outside, and offering different genres such as Milk Bath Sessions, Body Scape, Silhouette, and Underwater has made me one of the top Maternity photographers in St Louis and the only Underwater Photographer (full time with the ability to photograph underwater year around) in St Louis.
