I owe a big thanks to Wade Bass at Lions Den Strength Mobility Performance for getting me through jumper's knee, aka, patellar tendinitis. 15 sessions and its gone, probably would have been sooner if I didn't miss about 2 months. More...

Tristan is one of the most educated trainers out there. I went in to see him after developing an acromioclavicular joint, or better known as an AC joint separation in my left shoulder. I had been to several physical therapists before seeing Tristan but none of them compared. After a 60 minute session we had narrowed down the underlying issues behind my injury and Tristan developed an entire training plan for me. The results have been almost instant and even better they're long lasting. The education I gained in our 60 minute session will prevent me from this injury again. To add onto the great training Tristan had a genuine concern behind my injury and well being. He even ended the session with a remark along the lines of, "I don't want you spending money if you don't need to. Try this stuff out and text me if you need anything." I couldn't reccomend Tristan enough. He can replace a personal trainer or in my opinion even a physical trainer. If you have any sort of physical goal or injury he should be your go to guy. More...

Love Wade's passion and knowledge on working out, muscle groups, proper form and easy personality. I also like that Wade is more concerned with form and technique over how much weight you can push.

I went to the Lions Den for an 8-week volleyball performance camp and I have to say that I was very impressed! A little background- I started playing volleyball over 16 years ago and played in college. After graduating I took a short break away from the game. In my first game back, I ended up tearing my left Achilles and my performance has never been the same. After my injury my agility, flexibility and vertical were completely gone and I started to noticeably favor my right leg. But like most athlete's I was determined to get back into the game. I have recently picked up playing 2s sand, which besides the name, "volleyball", feels like a totally different sport. The way your body moves in sand is very different from playing 6s on a hard court. It's been crucial for me to regain the mobility and strength I once had, but also develop muscles that I have never really used before. While this camp was only 8-weeks, I was able to see results in the way my body performed in the sand. My agility, flexibility, vertical, and strength all saw improvements. At the beginning of the camp my single-leg box jumps had over a 6" difference between my right and left legs. In just 8-weeks it was only 3". As an athlete, I have worked with several different trainers and coaches in my life, but I've never seen such immediate results. The workouts were fun, structured, and the best part- Wade made sure to explain how each exercise can relate to movements on the court- so you would never lose sight of your end goal. I definitely recommend this gym for not just the volleyball performance camp, but anyone who has goals to get in better shape. The owners and trainers are incredibly knowledgeable about how to optimize body performance and they are focused on helping you achieve the results you desire. More...

I train with Wade 1-on-1. There aren't many trainers with as much knowledge and understanding of the body and movement in Denver. At least, I haven't found them. Wade never has me do exercises I can't do without great form. As he's told me many times...I can do heavy lifts all day, but the real way to increase strength is through proper form, and sometimes that means less weight. My experience has been amazing, and I recommend the Lion's Den Strength Mobility Performance to anyone looking to be healthier! More...

Went here for a personal training session and was blown away by the facility and friendly staff. I was fortunate enough to get one of the owners Wade as my personal trainer and we had a great warm up before getting into a squat session while emphasizing strong fundamentals. The gym atmosphere was very encouraging and friendly which I loved. Really enjoyed the knowledge that Wade was able to impart on my different workouts and he gave me some awesome things to take home and work on as well. Can't wait to come back again maybe for a group class in my next visit!I would HIGHLY recommend this gym to any athletes in the DTC area.(Ps. They also have great showers, towels, and body wash they provide for the post workout cleanse!) More...

I've been coming here since they opened in March of 2018 and I've noticed a change in my flexibility, my endurance, my strength, my mood and overall vitality. I look better, feel better, and have more confidence. Because of this, I am compelled to write them a review.

In the last half decade I've dabbled in different boutique gyms and memberships - you could say I've been around! The workouts at Lion's Den leave no muscle unturned, and will challenge and test you.

What's the workout like? It's an hour workout, with (currently) Mondays focusing on lower body, Wednesdays upper body, Fridays Hinge mechanics/glutes, and Saturdays are kind of a summary of the workweek/full body work. They focus on form and the reason behind it, because.. science! (You will inevitably learn a lot!) The beginning of class is a warm up, with the core work out containing 3-4 sections of a mash up of different compound movements, and the last part of the class is mobility (think of deep tissue massage that you give yourself using equipment to help blood flow/speed up your recovery).

As for equipment for the workouts, you can expect to use a mix of body weight exercises, kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells, medicine balls, battle ropes, sled, bands, clubs and maces - yes clubs and maces! (I tap into my inner battle-mage when doing mace 360's and warrior squats. :D) And for mobility you will be using things like rollers, balls, and bands to help work out knots and stretch/lengthen your muscles.

The demographic at the gym is very diverse with members of all different ages and fitness levels. The workouts are modifiable - so if you are fighting an injury, if you really want to go heavy and push, or if you are new to this whole "fitness" thing - the workout can be tailored to fit. Their goal is to educate and help each individual be that "complete and balanced athlete."

In order to do the above, they keep the class sizes small and with this the instructors are able to watch you and give you one on one feedback. With the class sizes also being small you are able to build friendships with other members - Lion's Den has done such a great job of creating a fun, supportive, positive community.

To make things easy, they have quick grab healthy bites from Zeal - I love the pineapple jalapeno cold pressed juice, as well as their really addicting protein balls. They also have locker rooms and showers if you need to get ready right after the workout.

I've included photos so you can get a better idea/sense of the place too.

If you are looking for a gym that will challenge you, that you can learn from, that you can grow from, that you can call home - give them a try! I hope to see you in class! :)
