We had a great session and had so many excellent shots to choose from - all perfectly edited. Leah Anne is a joy to be around and that’s clear as her lens was able to capture REAL smiles from our 1. 5 year-old who was a bit rambunctious and uncooperative at times during our shoot. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to great photographing, is honestly very simple. I just need to bring out the confidence and individuality you already have. Nobody is photogenic in real life, they just know who they are and are comfortable sharing that with the lens. Thats all my job is honestly.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I don't have a lot of questions per say, I do ask for some examples of what you like in photography (lighting, cropping, style and poses). I think its more important to get to you know you and I can give you back something that best reflects your personality.
What do you love most about your job?
Everything. I love getting to interact with different people from different worlds. There are so many beautiful hearts out there and people are dying to share it with someone that is willing to see it.
I think my favorite part is showing the client their finished product and seeing the look on their face - Wow. I am beautiful.
Thats my goal in life - show people that being WHO YOU ARE and authentic is the most beautiful thing, and those are the pictures you can be most proud of.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have had a camera in my hand since I was in middle school. I shot my first wedding at 17 and since then life has always pulled me back to photography. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am unique. I don't spend a whole lot of time trying to pose you and create this "staged" feel. I think it's important for my clients to get their pictures back and say, "Wow this is us" rather than "Wow this doesn't look like us". I do coach posing, hand/arm positions etc. but I do love to let my clients have a say on whats comfortable and whats really them.
During weddings and other intimate situations, I take a role as more of a friend. There is enough business personalties out there, so I like to give you a little more support to help you relax in knowing I'm on your team!
