Having Sue cater my husband's surprise birthday party was the BEST decision EVER! Sue took care of it all, from creating an exciting menu to filling the table with delicious foods of gorgeous colors, textures, and variety. Professional, charming, easy to work with, and oh so talented... I cannot express my gratitude enough. Our friends are still talking about how wonderful it all was. More...

Chef Sue did an amazing job with my daughter's 7th Birthday Party! The birthday girl got to pick her favorite foods to use in the menu (which she loved! ). The girls had fun, they were engaged for the full party time and they all learned something new and interesting! I highly recommend Fun with Food! More...

I owe Chef Sue a giant THANK YOU!!! My first grader is in her Fun with Food class after school at Tritt Elementary. We have allowed our daughter to try any FAST Class she wanted so that she could discover something she enjoyed. She has tried several, but after one semester, is ready to try something new EXCEPT Fun with Food. She loves that class. She looks forward to it each week, she enjoys explaining and showing us what she prepared as well as learning about and tasting new foods. That is how she developed a love for fruit parfaits (LOL). Our daughter is willing and eager to try a food at least once, which is a huge win with a 6 yo. And she now tells us that she wants to be a Pastry Chef or a Cooking Instructor. Those aren't typical careers for a first grader and so I must credit Fun with Food and Chef Sue for educating and inspiring my daughter's love of food. :) More...

Many thanks to Sue for providing THREE awesome meals for the Sidewalk Prophets in preparation for last night's concert. The group had some pretty specific requests, and Sue met them all. We just had my daughter's 10th birthday party with Chef Sue, and the girls had a blast! Sue helped Caroline design a menu with healthy and fun food options that everyone would enjoy preparing and eating! The girls were giggling with excitement as they moved through the stations and couldn't wait to dive in to the macaroni and cheese bites, pinwheels, asparagus pastries and delicious brownies. It was such a unique birthday celebration and fun to watch them proudly discuss their creations when their parents came to pick them up. sue is patient, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Highly recommend! More...

Sue catered my wedding in September 2016. Not only did she put out an amazing spread, she coordinated it from out of state and executed everything in the few short days she came into town for the event. She listened to our wants/needs and developed a beautiful menu. She cared for us as we set up the event , providing us healthy snacks and drinks. The food was beautiful and delicious on our big day and Sue even made sure that my wife and I had a special plate hidden in the kitchen, knowing how things go on wedding days for couples. Her passion and care are clear in her art. More...

Hiring Sue to cater my dinner party is the best decision I've ever made! I'd never used a personal chef in my house before, and I was a little apprehensive about how everything would work. I should not have worried because Sue is the perfect partner. She easily accommodated all of the special dietary needs that my guest list presented (gluten-free, dairy-free, allium-free) and provided expert guidance on all aspects of the menu. Having Sue (and her amazing assistant Katherine) running everything in the kitchen made the evening manageable for me, but also elevated the whole evening to something really special. The food was delicious and everyone at the party raved about the meal (complete with a hilarious table-wide demand for more of Sue's drool-worthy chimichurri sauce. We ate it almost faster than Sue could bring us seconds!) I wholeheartedly recommend Leaf and Loaf and I personally can't wait to work with Sue again. More...

John loved the cooking class you did for students at Ivy League Montessori!! He’s a picky eater and wouldn’t eat veggies and fruit! The students and staff at Ivy League Montessori loved loved the cooking class!!!

Thank you for being amazing chef and teacher! All the staff were really impressed in your teaching style, patience, knowledge, and all the planning and thought you put in the class! Most importantly the kids loved it and told their parents. If you ever decide you want more business I can recommended you to friends! You have a talent and passion as it shows!

Leaf &Loaf recently catered our 50th Anniversary Party and we were so pleased! Sue worked quickly and assembled a delicious array of food for our guests. We heard compliments all afternoon about how good the food tasted. The food was displayed and arranged beautifully on the table. Sue even gave us great suggestions about the cake and punch. She is a positive, calm person to have working in such a stressful situation. Leaf & Loaf gets my best recommendation.

Q&As

I take humble ingredients and create beautiful and nutritious dishes with them.

First I find out if they or their guests have any dietary restrictions, food preferences and style of event. Will people be sitting down to eat or walking around? Will it be inside or outside? What will the weather be like? (Summer vs. Winter Food)

I love working with fun and appreciative people when customizing menus and events just for them.

I had been working for others for 20+ years and it was time to be my own boss. I have always been an incredibly hard worker and I wanted all of that to benefit my family and myself.

I create beautiful, delicious and nutritious food. I am reliable, on time, incredibly diligent and tidy, fun to work with and respectful of the space I have the privilege of using.
