Delicious Italian restaurant in Brookline Village, with friendly and attentive service that makes you feel important and cared for. The menu changes by season, but two of my favorite appetizers (which tend to remain constant) are the fried sage leaves with anchovy and the arancini. The wine selection is excellent, and if you are in the mood to splurge I highly recommend the prix fixe with the wine pairing - I have never been disappointed with it! Prices here are definitely on the higher side, but so is the quality. Atmosphere is simultaneously homey and romantic, with dim lighting and two floors. You can usually find street parking on route 9, but there is also parking available at one of the nearby businesses. La Morra also started serving lunch this year, which is a bit more affordable and just as delicious! Finally, just in case you need extra convincing, I have heard it is Tom Brady's favorite restaurant :) More...

This place is a real hidden gem in Brookline Village. Parking is tricky but there's a cut through if you opt for the city street one block over from Rte 9. Service is impeccable and the whole experience at La Morra is really fancy. I love a place with a fixed price menu + wine flight. Makes ordering so easy and I can appreciate how wine pairs with different flavors as I'm completely useless at that stuff. The food was truly outstanding. All the Italian staples and several seasonal specials (squash and other root veggies for fall) made for a terrific list of dishes to choose from. The bread and butter are also so nice- especially if you arrive hungry. Nice and clean unisex single stall bathrooms- always a plus. Taking off one star because the tables are so packed in it is scary to try to scoot out of the booth. I was sure I'd sweep the tablecloth and everything on it right off my neighbor's table. It is also a tad loud because there are so many people. Maybe the 1st floor is better? We got a reservation, love places that take reservations, and noticed it was cleared out by 8:30. So come later at night if you want a quiet and delicious dinner. More...

La Morra offers fantastic food at a reasonable price. While most places in Boston are concerned more about the experience than the food, La Morra sticks to the Italian tradition of preparing simple meals with great flavor combinations. I highly recommend the bolognese. One of my favorite spots in Boston/Brookline! More...

Wow definitely the most exceptional customer service I've experienced in Boston, maybe anywhere. I made a reservation for 8pm for four of us, and it took them quite a while to seat us. We didn't mind because we had some heavy appetizers beforehand, plus we're easy going. The host apologized several times and even brought us Prosecco flutes. Once we sat down, the manager came by and let us know we'd be getting more Prosecco and even some appetizers. Both gifts arrived immediately and we were on cloud nine. Our waitress was kind and efficient. And once we got our main courses, it was solidified that I'll be a customer for life. My pasta was delicious but my friend made the very wise choice of ordering the squash lasagna. It was the best lasagna I've ever tasted! Everyone agreed and we decided to get another for the table! Wow it was just as good as the first. Between the warm and homey atmosphere, the exceptional customer service, and the delicious food, we will be returning soon and often! More...

This was a lovely dinner. We had the 4 course tasting menu.  After reading reviews it was unsure what we were to expect: a facility that had some highs and lows or all around awesomeness. Happy to report it was he latter.  No matter what the table ordered everything presented was made with care and finesse and the taste explains why this place is so well reviewed (nobody went with the bologna sauce) We did the wine parings which were not full wine pours, my only "wish it was different" feeling of the whole experienceYou'll love this place. Dined at LaMorra last night, a very busy Friday night in January. First, the atmosphere is so cozy and reminiscent of a restaurant in Tuscany, that we felt we were already there without having to fly. Second, the service was the best. Every member of the LaMorra staff from the maitre d' to our server to the sommelier to the busy boys were all as obliging and friendly as could be. Finally, the food was fantastic. A wonderfully varied menu capable of satisfying any taste in perfect portions with flavors that wisk diners off to Italy. So authentic! We started with several cicchetti appetizers, all of which were delectable, followed by salads that redefined the term, some with arugula, others with radicchio. For my main course, I enjoyed the best Porchetta ever, prepared as it should be and would be in Tuscany. Delicious! Other at my table enjoyed the swordfish and oyster risotto. For dessert, we had lemon poppyseed cake and biscotti. Our two bottles of Torre Rosazza Friuli Pinot Gris were delicious and disappeared quickly. LaMorra is a fantastic restaurant that is sure to please. More...

Things I Love About La Morra:1. The Lasagna al Coniglio. The menu changes often, so you should probably get over there before they take it off. I realize this is a rabbit and polenta lasagna with a thyme gremolata, and those words don't entirely compute as something many of you would want to eat or even things that make sense, but it is fantastic. 2. The fact that they are willing to make something like a rabbit and polenta lasagna, or a sweet potato ravioli in a spicy duck broth, or a parmesan sformata...judging by my relatives that live in the neighborhood, these aren't dishes that appeal to everyone, but I like the chances being taken. And because of the quality of the kitchen, most of them work. 3. The bread service (although the accompanying ricotta could've used some more seasoning). And the overall service. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful I could've sworn she was hitting on me. 4. The autumn salad (apples. toasted pecans, ricotta salata and ginger vinaigrette...as much as I've liked a gem salad in a minute). The hake (just an excellent fish dish overall). The oxtail brasato (rich, and perfect with the mashed carrots). I'm going to try and make this thing, and even if I only get it 50% of the way there, it's still going to be great.5. The fact that my aunt told me she knew the chef from when he was a little kid in the neighborhood. That's cute. Things I Don't Love About La Morra:1. The fact that my aunt told me she knew the chef from when he was a little kid in the neighborhood at least two more times. I heard you the first time lady.2. That when I told my wife I thought our waitress was hitting on me she laughed in my face. I have feelings too. 3. The bolognese. It's definitely srill solid (everyone else loved it) but it's not my favorite version of the dish, and it was less interesting than the rest of the food. And I could've sworn we didn't order it so I blame it for pushing me from pleasantly full to unpleasantly full. So yeah. Overall, I just love La Morra. More...

We came here for my birthday in August, which also happened to match up with Dine Out Boston, and everything was excellent! I had the grilled corn salad for the starter while my husband had the grilled zucchini salad, and both were very good. Next, I had the ravioli, which was also delicious. For the main course, I had the grilled blue fish while my husband had the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Finally, for dessert, I had the braised plum while my husband had the grasshopper panda cotta. The whole meal really was wonderful, and the dining room upstairs was quiet, peaceful, and overall a lovely place. I'd definitely recommend La Morra as a high end Italian restaurant good for a special occasion. More...

This was a good place for Italian food. The space is dim with a lovely atmosphere and the service is fantastic. The appetizers are small and delicious. I ordered a turkey meatball appetizer and my friend ordered ...patte..? a duck liver type of appetizer. For my main dish, I got the tagliatelle a ragu, the pasta was deliciously made and the meat put in it was very tender. The food was really good, in my opinion, the things I ordered were just a bit too salty. For dessert, I ordered a chocolate cake which was sooo exquisite. I would recommend giving this place a taste. Fantastic.  The bolognese was amazing, full of tender flavorful short rib and a bit of smokiness.  And I'm not usually a fan of that particular type of sauce.  Not a lot of pasta selections, so maybe not the best choice if you're dying for your specific dish.  The noodles were made on site and were out of this world.  Ambiance was good, service was great.  I'm eager to go back and try another dish there, but I'm tempted to get the exact same thing! Excellent meal.  Creative menu. Not your run of the mill pasta joint.  The service was outstanding.   Our server, Nicole was excellent, very attentive to our needs.  If there is one minor item we found slightly odd, was it's nice they came around and offered bread from a basket, but seemed stingy that they never offered a second slice.  My 94 yo mother loved her eggplant parmigiana, which was outstanding and different, using a batter rather than simple breading on the eggplant, but commented on why not put a bread basket on the table.  Charming evening, great restaurant. It was my 17 year anniversary and we had to leave without desert or coffee because it was just taking so long. My twins got a 1/2 size portion of pasta even though we had ordered it as a dinner, which was also disappointing because they waited so long for the meal to be served and were very hungry. The waitstaff was nice and made it right but by the time it came, we had to pack it up and eat it at home. All in all, we left disappointed.
