Kitchen Chicks Catering

I cannot possibly sing enough praises for Wendy Polisner and The Kitchen Chicks. I have hosted 2 large parties (125-150 people each) at my house in the last 4 months and have used their catering services for both. Wendy guided me in choosing different menus for each event and the food was consistently delicious and fresh and the portions were extremely  generous. Wendy is a pleasure to work with and anything I asked from her was accommodated.  Yesterday's party logistics threw her some unexpected challenges and she expertly, calmly, and professionally made last minute changes that literally saved the day. We got married August 6th 2016 and couldn't have done it without Peggy, Sara, and the Kitchen Chicks crew! All of the email correspondence, tastings and meetings leading up to the wedding made my husband and I feel very comfortable with Kitchen Chicks as our Caterer since it is such an important part to making your wedding run smoothly. Sara was on site with us the entire time and the staff were amazing the day of our wedding. They did a great job setting up the all of the tables under the tent and then taking everything down at the end of the night so you do not have to worry. Overall Kitchen Chicks did an amazing job. Everyone could not stop talking about how friendly and helpful the staff was as well as how delicious the lamb lollipops were! I could go on and on about there food but just so you know everything is good! Anything you pick for you wedding from there menus will be a great choice!

Peggy and her team at Kitchen Chicks are a dream to work with. I have seen many events catered by Kitchen Chicks and they have all been exceptional from the service to the food. During our wedding, there was a massive storm and the whole Kitchen Chicks team started holding up items in the tent, putting sides on the tent, made sure the guests had drinks and were comfortable during the storm. Peggy (and Sarah who joined the team part way through our planning) were amazing to work with and I couldn't have possibly been happier with their catering at our wedding, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day lunch. As you know, catering is one of the biggest budget items for a wedding but I truly believe it was worth every penny. They nailed the execution in every way and always made me feel comfortable during the planning. They are true professionals and I felt in great hands with them. Peggy also did my sister's wedding the Summer before and after the flawless execution there I knew without a doubt I needed to have her for mine. If you are lucky enough to get on her calendar, you are in for a treat!

My old employer in Deerfield uses The Kitchen Chicks' taco bar catering option frequently so when I needed to cater a party for my own staff of 10 they were the first ones that came to mind. They totally delivered!!  The taco bar included chicken, beef, rice, tortilla chips and wraps, lettuce, tomato, onions, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and tons of cheese (I feel like everyone is skimpy on cheese for tacos - they were not!).  Placing the order was easy - I just submitted the request online through their website.I live a bit away from their location so Wendy was able to deliver for a slightly higher delivery fee, which I opted for since it saved me time.  She was extremely pleasant and delivered on time.  We wound up with tons of leftovers because some people brought sides, but without that the portions would have been about right with some leftover for the number of people there. Kitchen Chicks Catering was a great choice for our Maine Flanagan Farm wedding. Sabin Beckwith, the event manager for KCC, was absolutely the best. The food was so great, from the cocktail hour offerings to the meals, and finally the late night snacks. We entertained a NYC crowd as well as Mainers, and we received so many wonderful comments about the food and service. For our rehearsal dinner we rented out Sprague Hall in Cape Elizabeth. Quaint and nothing fancy. The Kitchen Chicks took it on and made a wonderfully warm and inviting event for 100 people. We had a lobster bake. It was a huge success. The food was unbelievably good. The staff was professional and accommodating. Sabine took away any stress we had about execution. It was a perfect night. There are no words to describe how utterly amazing Peggy and Sabin are from kitchen chicks. We planned a destination wedding from Pennsylvania and they made us feel at such ease, and with good reason! We had them cater three days of events and the food was unbelievable. Our wedding was under a tent, in the middle of a field and what was served was above and beyond restaurant quality. Sabin helped us in the final stages of our planning process and I am so thankful for it! His attention to every detail was out of this world. Just when you thought something was going to go wrong, or not as planned, he swooped in and made it right. I am certain that there were things I didn't even know of that he probably fixed without us even knowing. When it came time to come home from our wedding week, I was so sad. It felt like we were leaving a part of us behind in Maine when we left Peggy and Sabin. We can't wait til the next time we visit maine to get in touch with them!
Bottom line is that if you are looking for a caterer that's more like family then a vendor then kitchen chicks is the way to go for sure. Not to mention their food is out of this world!

Husband: 'Hi Honey. What's for dinner?"Me: "Oh just a thanksgiving dinner in February. Some turkey, cranberry sauce, green beans, etc. No big deal...I just worked 10 hours today and took care of 2 children." ;)We did have a thanksgiving dinner in February, but it wasn't thanks to me. I don't have the time nor the ability to make even pasta, but that's where The Kitchen Chicks come to the rescue.I've been sick of takeout (even from my beloved Food Stuffs*) and feeling guilty about all the Trader Joe's meals my kids have been eating. I recently discovered The Kitchen Chicks and it's JUST what I've been looking for. The "chicks" do  the cooking for you, it's way healthier than everything else we've been eating lately AND they even have meals specifically for children.Wendy Polisner is the main "chick." The woman may be my new role model. She's running a successful business, can cook and has 4 (yes 4) children. Incredible!Ordering from the Kitchen Chicks is easy peasy. Every Sunday morning Wendy updates the site (and sends an email) with the meals for the week. You can choose from the meals such as Chicken Scaloppini or there's a long list of options to also choose from on the everyday menu such as Asian Glazed Salmon. After 2 weeks of Kitchen Chicks we're sold. Everything has been so incredibly tasty and I actually can now answer my husband's "what's for dinner" question. And all I did was heat up a meal for 10 minutes.Unfortunately, my kids seem to enjoy their Trader Joe's frozen meals more than these home cooked meals. I'm not sure how, especially after tasting their kid friendly butter noodles myself, but I hope they come to their senses soon.Superwoman (um, i mean Wendy) delivers the meals herself. Some meals are available on Mondays and Tuesdays while others not until Wednesday and Thursday. I'd personally love to see ALL the meals available on Monday so I could just place one big order for the week. It would also be great if they had some sort of online ordering system (similar to what Meez Meals** does) because there can be room for errors when sending an email, but hopefully in good time. We had the wedding ceremony in a barn and a tent for the party. Kitchen Chicks coordinated everything perfectly. We had our own dj, florist, and photographer.
The food was absolutely wonderful. We were allowed to bring in our own pies. The staffing was unobtrusive, perfect.

Kitchen Chicks Catering played a vital role in ensuring our wedding was beyond-our-imaginations-wonderful. The food was fresh, local and inspired; the menu was tailored to our tastes with accommodations for gluten-free & vegetarian guests and within our budget. It was not "wedding food", it was on par with been top notch restaurant food as we were told by many, many of our foodie guests. We had so much confidence in Kelly from the beginning and she definitely did not let us down, she went above and beyond to make sure every detail was right and was so helpful in guiding us down the right path with a lot of our decisions. There was a lot of coordination involved with the venue we hosted our wedding at and The Kitchen Chicks were key in making it all come together.
Everyone raved about our food, as well as our "his and her" signature cocktails!

We used Kitchen Chicks for both our rehearsal dinner (lobster bake) and wedding reception (we served a choice of scallops or beef). The food was amazing both nights - the best wedding food I have ever had. I also received many compliments on the staff and service (the bartender, unprompted, escorted an elderly relative across the grass field to the tent). They also put together beautiful table decor and flowers on Friday and lighting for both nights.

The event coordinator, Kelly, never missed a beat and was on top of all of our requests.

Kitchen Chicks were *very* flexible and creative, which I loved. We picked our "his and hers" cocktails for the reception at the last minute and KC completely accommodated us (and even came up with the "hers" drink themselves based on what I told them I liked).

Kitchen Chicks also managed all our rentals (tent, tables, chairs, tableware, PA system, generator, porta-potty, AV-equipment), which was great.

In general, Kitchen Chicks were very responsive, except during their busiest season in August and early September. This was somewhat stressful to me because our wedding was in late September, but things turned out beautifully regardless.

We initially chose Kitchen Chicks because they had a good balance between being organized and creative and their proposal was least expensive. However, it was in the general ball park with other estimates (Aurora Provisions, Churchill Catered Events), and after adding decor and final alcohol and staffing prices, I think the pricing would have been the same as the others, but with how well everything went, I am completely satisfied with our choice.
