My family did this today and we had so much fun! Mori is really knowledgeable and funny and really does a great job of explaining and teaching. We all want to come back for more classes. I had a ladies night out for my birthday. We had the best time. Mori was a phenomenal instructor. Not only did she teach us to make sushi, spring rolls, and sauces she taught us about the products we used, how to use chop sticks, and how to speak some Japanese word. I will definitely return.

What a great time! I took my girlfiend here for her birthday and we both loved it. I was expecting to be bored, but Mori is hilarious and an excellent teacher and chef. She takes you through not only how to prepare the meal, but what to focus on when you are trying to recreate it on your own at home. The food we made was amazingly good and easy to prepare. We focused on vegeterian options and I was shocked at how easy everything was and how unbelievably good it tasted. We did a cooking class at one of the more mainstream places before and it was nowhere near as good as this. It will be even more fun to go back for the basic sushi class with a group of our friends. After doing a random Google search for sushi class, Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen came up and we decided to give it a shot. It was well worth it! Going in with no idea of what to expect or without reading any type of reviews, we felt at home. Partly due to Mori being an Army vet and me a Marine vet stationed in Okinawa, Japan, my wife and I clicked with Mori immediately. But you don't need to be a vet to have a good time. She has an excellent personality and having lived in Japan I can say first say that the items she has you make are authentic and taste exactly like those in Japan. More...

Mori is hilarious, and the food was delicious. I went with my boyfriend for the first time. I was surprised by how much the quality of rice affected the taste of the food. I learned a lot about the basics of Japanese cooking and sushi making. I am a little bit more of a sushi snob now and I’m excited to make more of my own. ☺️ More...

My partner surprised me with a cooking class for my birthday and I enjoyed it. Mori was a delight and the atmosphere was laid back. I'm a bit of an introvert, so I was pretty uncomfortable around ppl I don't know, but Mori made it pretty easy to relax.

The only down side? Other customers. Can't control the snobs who also sign up, determined to waste time and make problematic comments. � but seriously, this was a great experience and I hope to return for another lesson soon!!! More...
