Life is tricky. From time to time, we all struggle with feeling content, good enough, and complete.

We know from research that by verbalizing positive thoughts and feelings, our experience of comfort increases, and by sharing negative thoughts and feelings, our experience of discomfort decreases.

The most inspiring piece of my job is the opportunity to connect with people when they feel the most vulnerable and watch them step into their true self. I'm honored and humbled daily by the strength through vulnerability that each of my clients have then they come to session. The road to wellness is a difficult and sometimes uncomfortable and I'm inspired by my clients desire and commitment on this path.

When I think about why I decided to become a therapist, I think about taking my first psychology course in high school. I was fascinated by the mind’s ability to do all that is necessary to protect itself and the resiliency of the human spirit. Since then I’ve been fascinated by the human experience and our unyielding desire to understand and find meaning and connection in our lives. I am both honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to connect deeply with my clients and stand with them as they experience their own power through vulnerability. On this journey, I continue to be in awe of my clients and am endlessly grateful to be able to bear witness to such powerful personal changes. The journey towards self-discovery is a long, endless road. And on that journey, I am committed to walking with you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (see FAQ for description). I am also a certified 200-hour yoga instructor. Operating from a holistic framework, I like to combine both traditional, evidenced-based therapeutic interventions with more creative, Eastern-minded approaches. I believe the body, mind, and spirit must all be taken into account when looking at the overall health of an individual. I explore with my clients ways for them to root within themselves, to feel grounded, connected, and whole.

I use a relational approach to therapy, believing our connection to others is key for a healthy experience. Relationships throughout our lives, both positive and negative, help create the template from which we learn to operate. By cultivating a collaborative, warm, and accepting therapeutic relationship, clients become empowered to take this template out of the office and into their personal lives.
