I enjoy meeting new people, quickly learning about their businesses, and solving marketing or advocacy problems for them through written communications. It’s very gratifying when my work helps a small company become a mid-sized company, or helps a mid-sized company to continue growing. It’s rewarding when I help a non-profit organization share research findings, or communicate an important advocacy message.

I was late in realizing the importance of writing to me. Once I did realize, I wanted to work in a situation where I could give voice to people for whom writing was only a secondary skill—those who did not enjoy or have the time to spend on writing, or who needed help in identifying and expressing important messages. I also wanted to use my skills that go beyond writing—marketing, research, design—and my knowledge of specific industries, to build a business for myself.
