I hired Jon to photograph my husband's surprise 60th birthday party which I had a on a boat.  I couldn't be happier!  From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience. I contacted Jon months before the party and I enjoyed talking to him.  He's warm and funny and serious about the work he does.  We talked a few more times over the course of a few months with weekly contact leading up to the big day. On the day of the party we were texting up to the moment we walked onto the dock to everyone's cheers!  It was a moment that my husband and I won't soon forget and it was captured beautifully by Jon.  During the party, Jon and his staff were terrific, often blending in and with no intrusions.  Our guests were as impressed with Jon as much as we were.  The night was an incredible night made even more special by Jon's talented work. We got the photos a few weeks ago and were blown away. I had a 60th surprise party for my husband. I had seen Jon's photos on a friend's Facebook page. I went to his website and loved what I saw. I hired Jon after speaking with him over the phone. He is warm, friendly, funny and passionate about what he does. We spoke a few times and emailed as well months prior to the party. Jon planned every detail and left nothing to chance. Asking questions about my husband, our relationship, family and friends, Jon completely understood my wishes and expectations. He had great advice to share about what would work. We spoke the day of the party and texted prior to our arrival. To say that Jon exceeded our expectations is an understatement. I received the photos and we were absolutely blown away. Jon is an absolute pleasure to work with! I've used him for two Bat Mitzvahs and he exceeded my expectations both times. Before the big day, he made sure to get to know us and to understand what we wanted. He helped us relax and feel comfortable during the formal photo shoot when we were all a little nervous. And during the party, he seamlessly, almost invisibly, glided around the room and captured so much, everything from the big moments to the little facial expressions that normally get missed. When I first came to Jon, I was nervous about getting my photos taken, because I had always looked awkward in pictures in the past. After working with him and then seeing the results, I realized that this was simply because nobody ever showed me how to be comfortable in front of a camera. Jon is the master of that. Not only that, but I also realized that I'm more attractive and photogenic than I ever believed possible (and the sheer volume of positive comments I've received online confirmed that). I just needed someone skilled to bring that out of me.He's a wizard at capturing authentic and honest emotional expressions. He's the only photographer I've met in Boston who does that. I had a shoot for profile pictures with Jon and I couldn't have been happier!  Jon was friendly and professional, a real joy to work with. Jon has an extraordinary gift, not just because he is an amazing artist who takes incredible photos, but because he has this magical way of helping everyone to see and express their own inner beauty. I have always hated the way I looked in photos, in this age of "selfies" I never take pictures of myself, but I was astonished by what he was able to capture on film. Jon has an amazing eye and he has a knack for being in the right place at the right time to capture those fleeting moments. He draws people out and his photos of our family and friends are priceless. Jon (owner of Jon Fischer Photography) photographed our family event (bar mitzvah).  My wife and I selected Jon after directly seeing him work at other events, and then reviewing his portfolio of work.  The photos he'd shot, both in the portfolio and at the event that we attended, were really excellent.  Even more important, was the amazing energy and attentiveness that Jon put into the job; as guests, we were lucky to be able to observe him at work (something you can't do if you're the host, usually), and were very impressed by his dedication and focus.  After reviewing the pictures he'd taken, we felt we had a winner.We worked with Jon during the event planning stages, to review the shots we wanted, the place, timing, etc. and Jon was extraordinarily patient and cooperative throughout the process.  At our event(s), the photo sessions went off perfectly!  Jon worked hard, and cared deeply about our family and his job in capturing the special moments for us - both posed portraits and live action shots.  Jon's experience let him improvise some great shots through the event (before, during, after).  Also very important was Jon's ability to work seamlessly with the other vendors, to respect the synagogue and it's rules, to blend in with the guests, and to ensure that there was no interference with the event itself, all while capturing the special moments.Jon's followup after the event was also very professional, courteous, responsive, and patient as we worked through selecting our final pictures for our album.  I'd strongly recommend using Jon for your event; we'll be using him once again for our second.  Talk to him, meet him, look at his work.  He's a true professional and a pleasure to work with. Can't say enough about Jon. He came highly recommended by a good friend, and now we have hired him twice for both our kids' bar and bat mitzvahs. Not only is he a skilled photographer, capturing both the thoughtful traditional photos you want, but also the amazing candids that really show the feeling of the event.
