What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There is no secret, but there are a few prerequisites that help lead to better results:
1) Comfort - emotions are carried through the eyes, that's why we smile when viewing a photo of someone truly enjoying themselves.
2) A Plan - having a shared-plan and knowing what aesthetic or emotion you're shooting for makes for better collaboration.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The most common questions (and most important things I want clients to know):
1) How much will this cost (the photos, hair, makeup)?
2) How quickly will I see proofs?
3) Do you do retouching?
4) How quickly will I receive the final edits?
5) What types of outfits are best?
6) How should I arrive (hair dry, no makeup, moisturized skin)?
What do you love most about your job?
The most satisfying part of the job is hearing the excitement in our client's voices as we capture images of their best selves.
Portraits
Unlike headshots, portraits may be full-body shots and include a wider range of creativity and styling.
Headshots
Typically photos of from your chest/shoulders up. Great for LinkedIn, or "about pages" on corporate websites.
