We went to Jim’s Smokin’ Cafe for lunch today and it was fantastic. Service was exceptional and food was all made from scratch and very good. Jim came out to greet us and he told us that he smokes his meat in a courtyard behind the Cafe. He makes soup from scratch in addition to his various sauces. Coleslaw unique with a slightly sweet vinegar dressing. I would highly recommend Jim’s. More...

This is a must try if you are in the area. Great menu of tasty barbecue. Waitress was awesome! Owner came out and asked if your meal was ok, which I appreciated him taking the time to greet us.

We stopped at Jim's while participating in the Heritage Trail garage sale 2021. I ordered the steak tips, with bourbon baked beans, and mac and cheese. . absolutely fantastic! Jim personally chatted with us and introduced us to his art deco vintage beautiful soda fountain bar. After our meal he brought us out a sample of the melt-in-your-mouth pastrami he uses in his Sunday brunch menu. That too was incredible, along with the house-made sauces. We finished the night with the best chocolate malt I've ever had. I highly recommend eating here and just in general, recommend folks stop and check out Niles downtown area. More...

During a fun weekend road trip we stopped for lunch at this amazing small town gem. Jim captivated us with friendly conversation, mouth-watering choices, and a historic vintage (yet chic! ) soda fountain architecture. Think 50’s diner meets fusion smoked incredibl-ness! Absolutely worth a stop, even if it’s out of your way. Go there! More...

What a warm and welcoming place! Our server, Katie was warm, informative and the owner Jim gave us a detailed tour of the ins and outs of Niles, MI. As the bourbon beans were't ready yet, he snuck out a couple of scoops for us. The atmosphere is terrific and the old fashioned soda fountain was an unexpected delight. The best part-THE FROZEN mugs to keep your drink really cold. Terrific spot. Thank you Katie and Jim! More...

I was very disappointed with the brisket dinner. Almost all of the brisket was VERY fatty, it was 1/2# of meat and I threw away half of it because I can't eat fat like that 😡 not worth the money 😢

My daughter and I went for brunch on Mother's Day! I loved it all! Candied bacon and French Toast bake was delicious! We topped it off with gelato! I loved stepping back to a soda shop atmosphere from the 60's. Took me back to when I worked at a drive in in Plymouth. Old milkshake machines, hot fudge warmer, Green River phosphates, old toys my brothers had growing up! I hardly say try Jim's Smokin' Cafe! More...

I had such high hopes for this place and was so disappointed. We walked in and wasn't greeted until we said hello, a worker handling food wasn't wearing a mask and the whole atmosphere just felt off. We got home with our food to find what I can only assume was mustard all over the containers and as well as on the top of my sandwich bread (my sandwich didn't even have mustard). I also found that the tomato on my sandwich was placed at the very bottom which caused the the bottom piece of bread to get so wet that when I went to pick it up my sandwich, it fell apart 😔 I did my best to put it back together and was happy to find that the food still tasted good aside from the soggy bread. I am hoping that this was just an off day due to being busy with the hunter ice festival. My family loves supporting local business so perhaps we will come back at a later date to try again and hopefully I will be able to change this review. More...

By far the best food in Niles. I had the opportunity of conversing with the owner, Jim. He's passionate about his foods and that's the type I like to support. The quality of brisket meat was great and the home made BBQ sauce blew my taste buds away. I can't wait to order again. More...
