If you’re looking for unique, genuine, and heartfelt moments captured, go to Jenn! We found her through recommended photographers from a bridal magazine. Upon meeting Jenn, we were drawn that she was a geek (like us!) and was a huge LGBTQIA+ supporter. Our hearts were won over and for our engagement shoot - she recommended the most gorgeous location - Eagle Falls. She also gave us great tips on how not to look awkward in photos together. Throughout our time together (post-poned wedding 2x due to pandemic) Jenn was always quick to respond to messages, sets clear expectations, and was detail orientated to take note of who was important to capture in photos for our wedding day. On the day of, she went around the venue to check for great spots and knew when to pull us in for the right moment! During family photos, she was an amazing lead in directing people for family photos (and we have a huge family!). She also made sure to grab us to catch romantic photos before sunset which we absolutely adore. Post-wedding, we received 3 previews in a week and full photos within a month! Her website also makes it easy to order quality photos for friends and family. We were referred to Jenn Tai by our wedding planners. We spent $4,410 for 6 hours of wedding day coverage with 1 photographer. Our photographer was Kelly Bowie. From the moment Kelly arrived at our wedding it felt like amateur hour. Even though we met with her in advance of our wedding and sent all the details in writing, she “forgot” pretty much everything we discussed. For example, Kelly forgot to bring the list of family groupings for the family photos. Kelly also forgot that we needed seating for disability accommodations during the family photos and chose a location that required our elderly and disabled guests to walk down a hill and then stand outside in the August heat for almost an hour with no place to sit. Additionally, during the ceremony Kelly’s presence was very distracting. We were in a small greenhouse with multiple entrances where she could have easily walked around the guests to get from one point to another but instead she walked down the aisle and in front of our guests multiple times during the ceremony. If it’s possible, when we received the photos we were even more disappointed in Jenn Tai Photography. There was a real lack of attention to detail that was visible in the photos and that you expect a professional photographer to be aware of. For example, in several of the photos you can see phones visible in pockets, hand sanitizer clipped to belts, etc. Also, some of the key photos were overexposed and as a result faces or images were so light that detail was lost. We brought a lot of these issues to the attention of the company owner, Jenn, who did her best to address our concerns during post-production editing. Jenn’s customer service was great and we know that she worked hard to try to correct the issues with our photos. Thank you, Jenn, for doing your best to fix our photos. Overall, we’re still not happy with most of our wedding photos, but thanks primarily to Jenn’s post-production work we have a small percentage of wedding photos that we love and will cherish. More...

Jenn and her team were incredible to work with. Not only was the planning process seamless, efficient and thorough, but they made day of enjoyable and smooth too. Jenn even stepped up to help in areas where some other vendors fell through. She really kept things going and was able to adapt and pivot easily, making our lives so much easier. The photos themselves were amazing, not only in quality but in the moments that were captured. We couldn't have been more grateful to have found Jenn Tai for my daughter's backyard wedding! She captured the funny moments of getting our hair fixed beforehand, the Flower Dog in her flower collar and the Best Dog in his pupxedo, the guests gamely pulling together the decorations and the meal. And she captured the sweetest moments when my soon-to-be son in law wiped away his tears as my daughter walked along the garden pathway and into sight, the look of wonder and joy on my little girl's face as she read aloud her promises. Jenn's magical photos will keep fresh for us always the wonder of that day, even highlighting those bits of our lives we might have overlooked amid the rush--the magnificent flowers on our rural acreage, the wedding dress hung carefully out on the deck in the sunlight with the dog sitting contentedly on the train, the laughter and silly expressions on our faces as we put on the finishing touches of the makeup we so seldom wear and prepared to leave for the ceremony. I knew from our first Zoom meeting that Kelly was going to be a total match as our wedding photographer. She is warm, fun and puts everyone at ease. Inviting someone into some of the most intimate moments- like putting your dress on for the first time in front of your mom- is so tricky and I was blown away by Kelly's ability to be so present, make sure she was getting the shots and be unobtrusive at the same time. I have a lot of professional photographer friends but I am SOOO happy I went with a professional wedding photographer, I realize it is an entirely different thing. Kelly felt like a friend at the end of the day and then there are the photos! You cannot put a price on having someone capture the true emotion of your wedding day. I think it takes a mix of skill and experience but there is an ineffable quality of having an artist who is tuned into the specific vibe of the day and the couple. That was Kelly to a T. I love our photos, I already treasure them as do our families. Jenn Tai is also the real deal, from the moment we hired her company, I felt like we got customized and gracious service, excellent communication, and knew we would be taken care of. Wow, where do we even begin?! We already knew we wanted Jenn to be our photographer after seeing her past work, but after our initial meeting with her, it solidified our decision even more because of her warm and bubbly personality! Jenn was super communicative, responsive, and understanding throughout our entire wedding process, which included a stressful COVID postponement. She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot. We both initially felt awkward and didn't know how to pose (what do you do with your hands?!), but Jenn was able to make us relax and enjoy the moments with each other. She captured our genuine smiles, laughs, and personalities through her photos. We had anticipated our wedding day to be stressful, running behind, and a hot mess. But thanks to Jenn and Kelly, everything ran smoothly, we were way ahead of schedule, and it was so calm we even had time to relax before the ceremony began. Jenn and Kelly arrived early to scope out spots around the venue for our first look and portraits. We got married in the middle of November, and somehow they managed to make our photos look like the middle of summer! Jenn is a master in capturing beautiful candid moments that help us relive our wedding day every time we look at our photos. We cannot rave enough about Jenn! We fell in love with her work while looking for venues and were so fortunate she was available. Not only is her photography amazing, but she is responsive, easy to work with, and, as a camera shy couple, we had a blast being photographed by her. My wedding finally happened and JENN TAI finally happened. I can't convey enough in words how lucky we were to have Jenn as our photographer. So aside from talent which I had already mentioned in my review from before and being able to capture emotion like no other, she also kept our wedding on track. I feel like she was an essential puzzle piece of the entire night that kept the flow as we intended. Without her, it feels like the sequenced of events may have derailed, honestly. Jenn is super organized, and emailed me a thorough timeline of how/when we should do photos in an organized manner, and as a rigid time/punctual person this helped me out massively. It really kept everything on schedule and I am so glad Jenn was there to do just that on the day of. You can tell she's well experienced in the wedding industry, and I needed that kind of experience/advice on my side. I'm also amazed at the rapid turnaround time. She took *SOOO* many photos and was able to get me my album within 1 month of the wedding. I was expecting it to take much longer. Trust me now - book her for your big day and you will NOT regret it.
