Jeff is a great coach as he works with you in a patient and encouraging manner. He emphasizes correct posture and the need to maintain it during workout which hardly anybody does. He is also flexible and is good coach with dietary tips etc. There are very few like him out there. More...

Finding a personal trainer for my husband was tough, but I am so glad I chose Jeff and so was my husband. Jeff had a new client special that I took advantage of. I initially purchased five lessons with Jeff per request of my husband for his birthday (just to clarify the lessons were for my husband, not for me...that would be kind of an odd birthday gift to ask for). My husband had some experience working out at the gym but hadn't gotten into a routine for some time. So my husband thought he could meet with Jeff once a week to have a workout and then get a workout plan for the rest of the week for five weeks total. However, after an initial discussion with Jeff, he had taken Jeff's advice to meet three times per week instead. What a huge difference this made! Every lesson Jeff took time prior to the workout to talk about how the diet was going and what the next steps could be for improvement. Never did my husband feel pressured to lie about what he was eating or doing outside of the workouts and never did my husband feel judged on decisions that may not have been in line with what Jeff recommended. After the second workout, my husband was convinced to start a twelve week program (36 lessons total) with Jeff. Each workout was tailored specifically to my husband's development. They worked out at a park that was near our place and Jeff was extremely flexible on the schedule/location. Each workout was tightly focused using free weights and Jeff's "stimulate, don't annihilate" approach allowed my husband to not feel tortured the next day with excessive soreness (he still had some soreness since he was breaking down muscle tissue). In all the years of training or playing sports, my husband said he hasn't seen the type of change that occurred with Jeff. The only downside was that it had to end because we couldn't afford to keep the program going. My husband now has a much better idea on how to combine weight training, cardio and diet and attributes it to the time spent with Jeff this past summer. I worked with Jeff about a year ago and was on his program for about 6 months. I was 54 at the time and lost 45 pounds working with Jeff's program, which got me right where I wanted to be weight wise. More importantly, I felt much stronger, more fit, and able to perform the sports I love, namely racquetball and mountain biking.I've worked out for most of my life and thought I was pretty well-versed on how to do so. That turned out to be false. Jeff really knows how to take you from where you are to where you want to be. Doctors would call that "meeting the patient where they are". He's constantly educating you on proper technique, how your body really works, and giving you tricks to maximize your time in the gym and to make your calories count. Much of this comes from his time competing as a body builder, but is not overly burdensome. Having said that, you will need to put in the work and embrace a measure of dietary discipline... no surprises there.Jeff is not one of these run-of-the-mill gym trainers marking off sets and reps on a checklist. He knows when you are hurting and when you are holding back, and will push you right to that line without allowing you to injure yourself. It really is uncanny that he knows to stop you at just the right rep... no more counting to 10, that means nothing! The inspiration for Jeff Scavo Fitness was brought on after I had attained my fitness goal of becoming a top ranked winning physique athlete while having mastered the art of body transformation. During my personal transformation, I progressed from a 6'1", 150 lbs. thin physique, with no muscle, to a muscular physique champion.

Having master the art of body transformation I knew then I would be able to of service to others.

I treat every client as an individual keeping in mind their own strengths and limitations. Not everyone works out in the same way or needs the same type of motivation. I typically recommend that each client has three sets of dumbbells. Weight requirements will vary from client to client, but I follow this general guideline.

One set should be light (3-5lbs), one medium (8-10lbs), and one heavy (15-20lbs).

What if you don’t have any equipment at home?

No problem. All bodyweight movements can be modified to be more or less challenging. Meaning a bodyweight workout can be perfectly tailored to your current fitness level. You can use a push-up as a simple example and I will create a program with variations. It can be programmed for a beginner to advanced athlete.

Live workouts offer the benefit of real-time feedback, where I demonstrate, correct and guide your exercise form and performance.

Whether on your laptop or your phone, remote fitness coaching is delivered to you at home, apt gym, your local park (or anywhere) over the internet.

I follow and practice the CDC'S guidelines such as social distancing and wearing a mask unless you are an online client.

A Nutritional Consultation & Audit

I ask every new client to keep a food diary of exactly what you consume during the preceding week. This way I can accurately conduct a full scale audit of dietary habits and make positive changes that are particular to how you eat. I am also very careful to integrate your nutritional plan within your existing lifestyle. My view is that the word “diet” is a misnomer, and my main concern is putting you on the right track to create enduringly eating habits. Depending upon the client and the goals, I also map out a full scale supplementation program that includes every possible permutation of what food supplements a client could take to their enhance their progress.

Studies have shown that physical activity outdoors lowers a person's blood pressure and heart rate. As a result, exercise outdoors feels less strenuous than similar exercise indoors, which, in turn, pushes you closer to your maximum performance. Train outdoors, push yourself to the limit and keep breaking your personal record!

When you exercise outdoors, you get fresh air which helps to alleviate insomnia. Regular exercise and fresh air will help you to fall asleep and improve the quality of your sleep!
