James is absolutely amazing! We hired James a little over a year ago for our wedding! We were not getting married in our hometown so we decided to find someone in the town would get married in! We had our Engagement session with James this past June in Roanoke Virginia. We were nervous before going, because sometimes the first session with a new photographer can be a little uncomfortable. Ours was FAR from it! We had the absolute best time! Not to mention the pictures we got back from it were absolutely incredible. I could not recommend James more! Before our wedding James kept in touch and up to date with everything! This helped ease my anxiety before our big day. James arrived ahead of schedule on our wedding day and got started immediately! He is by far our favorite photographer that we have worked with and we will definitely be making trips to Roanoke in the future just to book sessions with him! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Connection and comfort. If there is no connection, there is very little comfort. If you're not comfortable, it shows in the photos, and no one will be happy.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
General, nosy stuff. How did you meet? When? What type of feeling are you wanting to show?
What do you love most about your job?
Making my people happy. There is nothing more rewarding in my line of work than seeing you genuinely smile and have a good time.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My wife and I were completely broke when we eloped. My biggest regret is not having a single photo from that day. I remember it like it was yesterday, but it would be nice to be able to have something to look back on. I don't want my couples to have to miss out on that.
Why should our clients choose you?
I provide a genuine, down-to-earth photography experience designed to create an environment of comfort and connection. I will provide you with a variety of photos with a bit of posing and a lot of candid. I want you to have the real moments and feelings to look back on.

I can provide consults through Zoom or the like. Can't really cover your wedding from my couch, though...
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am fully vaccinated and boosted and will gladly mask up. I'll also bring the long lenses and hide in a corner if you'd like.
