It was an excellent decision in choosing Iva as our wedding photographer for my daughter’s wedding that just occurred in early November. Iva was easy to work with, very professional, accommodating, creative, and well organized. She was also very sensitive to and respectful of our needs, wishes, and ideas; and she knows her craft. Once hired, the process started with an organized form that we filled out, covering the details of the wedding and our list of desired family pictures. We then met with Iva prior to the event and saw how important it is for her to capture the moment and her attention to detail. On event day, she arrived early, well prepared, and produced an outstanding portfolio of wedding pictures. We have a nice mix of professional posed pics of the ceremony and reception as well as impromptu/action shots of the ceremony, guests, reception, and dancing that superbly captured the event for us. Iva Dostal was the perfect photographer for my and my husband's wedding. We had a destination wedding and Iva was a delight to work with through the whole experience. Since my husband and I live in a completely different state, we had to work almost exclusively with Iva through email and phone calls. This is not the easiest way to plan photos for a wedding, but Iva made it so simple and assured us of everything we would need. She listened to what we wanted for pictures. She understood we were looking for as much of a stress free wedding as possible. She had great suggestions on the places to go and types of shots to take. The day of the wedding Iva helped guide the day with her schedule for pictures and she had no issues loading us into her vehicle and taking us to places to get the most beautiful pictures. In addition to the professionalism Iva showed up to and on the day of the wedding, Iva also returned our pictures very quickly. She advised it would be a month before we received our pictures, but she was able to get them to us in two weeks! Iva is everything we asked for and more in a photographer. My fiancé and I recently had our engagement photos with Iva and I could not be more pleased. I never expected the quality to be so amazing. It was such a pleasure to work with Iva! Not only is she an amazing photographer, but she is a wonderful person too. She worked so hard to get all of the pictures we wanted on the big day, she came early to get all the small details, worked with both our large families to get all the group shots we wanted, and stayed late to capture a few shots of our wedding lanterns that got pushed back due to a thunderstorm. She was able to work with our budget, we had a DIY wedding but beautiful photographs were something that we didn't want to give up. Iva is super great and made the whole experience fun. My husband and I feel so awkward in front of the camera and she made it so comfortable. She is extremely personable and easy to talk to. She definitely sees the vision you're going for and brings them to life. She was able to work with the overcast day and brought so much light to the photos and made everything so vibrant. What inspired you to start your own business?
Photography has been a passion of mine since high school so I've always been involved in the field in one way or another. I take a variety of classes, read books & articles, watch videos and look at other people's work. I never stop looking around to see where I can draw new inspiration and techniques.I do a wide variety of sessions. A majority of my work are weddings and engagements but I also do many portrait sessions whether it be family, individuals, and other events. I also love a slower pace when photographing architecture.
Why should our clients choose you?
I always have a little discussion with new clients about who we are photographing and for what purpose.
Portrait: We will chat to figure out the style you are looking for and the best location for your session. There are so many amazing options with the cities and parks, I have some favorites but I am always open to exploring new spots, too!
Wedding: The process begins with a few emails for more details, and in person consultation. I work closely with you on such a special day, I like to make a personal connection with the couples.
I also send out what to wear cheat sheets and a confirmation after booking a session and an online questionnaire for all my booked weddings.
