We had a great experience and will be sure to continue to go here for grooming! This was our puppy’s (Beamer) first grooming experience and I was a little nervous. Chad took time to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease. The groomer interacted with Beamer while I was there, and when it was time to get his haircut, Beamer pranced right off with the groomer - happy as can be! They did an amazing job with the cut for a golden doodle. Beamer loved it there and he looks so handsome now! He looks so good that my neighbor also scheduled an appointment here! I have desperately been searching for a new groomer in West Ashley for a couple of years now for my 30 lb Shetland Sheepdog (read: 30 lbs of hair). After visiting multiple other groomers and being dissatisfied with the price, quality of work, availability, treatment of animals, or cleanliness, I was pretty much at my wits end on my search. Enter Island Dog Wash & Market to the rescue. After searching online and calling to see if they would take walk-ins for nail clipping, I walked in the next day to the most pristine grooming location I've ever seen. The staff was extremely welcoming and the groomer was wonderful upon meeting my dog. While there, I inquired about their professional grooming services, pricing, and availability. They were able to take me the next day and didn't even charge me for the nail clipping that day since I would get that as a part of the full grooming service. For the nail clipping, I was in and out in less than 15 mins. The grooming the next day took less than 2 hours and pricing was consistent with all the other places in the area I've been so nothing was unexpected. They did a wonderful job grooming my Dixie. The staff at Island Dog is friendly, accommodating, professional, and did a fantastic job. I cannot recommend this place enough. They've found a lifelong customer in me. More...

My 4 year old daughter and I visited Island Dog Pet Wash & Market for the first time yesterday to give our Beagle mix a “tubby”. The place was very clean and the folks were super nice. They even got my daughter a small apron to wear and a stool to stand on so she could help. Everything you need for self washing is right at your finger tips and you don’t have to worry about cleaning up a mess like you would at home. Brought my pup, Little Boy, last Sunday after a muddy romp at the James Island Dog Park. They were so helpful! We did a self service wash, and everything you need is provided, including 4 different shampoos, and every brush, comb, and wipe you could ever need. Little Boy snorted the entire time and no body even batted an eye. We will definitely be returning and bringing our other dog, Khloe, who gets a little nervous. You can even call ahead to let them know if you have dogs with special needs/circumstances (nerves, fleas, etc) and they will accommodate! More...
