So Ironhand Vineyard banned me from attending this Wine Bar because they got hold of a suicidal ideation that I shared in a PRIVATE support group chat that was made to help give me support and process my feelings. I was coming here every week to do the Latin dancing on Wednesdays for a year. Invited some people from the Latin dancing community to join the support group chat because the people who helped me established the support group wanted me to ask people that I could trust to join so the group could get bigger and have a faster respond time. Was reluctant in asking people from the Latin dancing community to join because deep down I knew they didn't have the awareness and the experience to properly deal with my depression and suicidal ideations... Only four people from the Latin dancing community decided to accept my offer of joining the support group chat and I severely regret it. One of them saw the suicidal ideation that I shared where I said "I sometimes wish that I have a gun to shoot myself at Latin dance in front of the privileged people" and she freaked out. To get this out of the way, I have no intention of shooting myself. Don't have a gun or have any access to a gun. Was ONLY being open and vulnerable in my own support group and my intention was genuinely asking for help. It was NEVER a real threat of shooting myself and it never will be. Unfortunately, the woman who got freaked out shared my suicidal ideation with people outside of the group without my permission compromising my privacy in the process and it spread to the wrong kind of people including Ironhand Vineyard. The manager saw it and decided to automatically ban me from Ironhand Wine Bar because they have a zero tolerance policy which is inherently wrong. Zero tolerance policies don't work because it violates principles of health and human services and standards for the education and healthy growth of children, families, and communities. People who support zero tolerance policies don't believe that principles that support education, employment, housing, transportation, recreation, and political participation in the community is a right in the United States which is really sickening to hear. I'm against zero tolerance policies because they neglect investigation on a case-by-case basis and they lead to unreasonably harsh penalties for crimes that do not warrant such penalties in reality like the banning of me from Ironhand Wine Bar which I'm officially owed an apology for. Plus zero tolerance policies prohibit their enforcers from making the punishment fit the crime. So the banning of me was unjust because they didn't have the full context and the whole story of me sharing that suicidal ideation. It makes the manager look like an insolent fool... The banning of me is officially discrimination because of sanism or mentalism which is a irrational prejudice against people with mental illness. It is of the same quality and character as other irrational prejudices such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and ethnic bigotry that cause and are reflected in prevailing social attitudes. Ironhand Vineyard has absolutely no right to ban me. They're being very discriminatory towards me and I don't appreciate it. What they're doing is ostracizing and shunning me for my mental health. Alienating me from the Latin dancing community and keeping me in isolation. It is stigmatization against me. The manager of this place has biases and prejudices that goes against people who are mentally ill. Sanism or mentalism like other forms of discrimination such as sexism or racism involves intersecting forms of oppression, complex social inequalities and imbalances of power. Mentalism or sanism results in covert discrimination by multiple, small insults and indignities and it is characterized by judgments of another person's perceived mental health status which these judgments are followed by actions such as blatant, overt discrimination which includes refusal of service like banning me from Ironhand Wine Bar, and the denial of human rights. People are not aware how sanism or mentalism impacts how individuals are treated by the general public, by mental health professionals, and by institutions, including the legal system. These negative attitudes are also internalized. Either way, I'm bitterly disappointed in how Ironhand Vineyard has treated me... They took something away that I enjoyed doing and because of the suicidal ideation spreading to people who have a piss poor understanding of me I have now been officially banned from doing all Latin dancing events here in South Bend. This isn't right... The banning of me has only caused far more harm than good for me... My social interactions have now been severely limited and my mental health is deteriorating. I'm at a complete loss of what to do and how to fix this... There's only a select few people who genuinely support me in this conundrum of a situation. Tired of being alone and struggling... All I want is love and happiness in my life with like-minded people that I can call my loved ones... To live life to the fullest and in the moment because happiness is only real when shared... Simple as that... Don't support this Wine Bar especially if they refuse to better themselves in their treatment of people like me. I WILL stay away from here but I WILL always tell people how this place has officially discriminated against me because I refuse to be censored and silenced. Thanks for reading. More...

Ironhand is a wonderful place to grab a drink and some great food. Nice patio near the water, cool industrial design inside, great staff (all really friendly and hard workers), highly recommend the flatbread! !! It has a cool mix of regular tables, high tops, casual / couch areas and the traditional bar setting. Definitely recommend giving it a try!! More...
