Interiors by Maloku, Inc

Mara is excellent. I need help with my remodel-another eye, some direction, someone who would take the items that I like or purchased, and to help me place them. My home is quite large, and I wanted a more modern updated interior.

I also needed help with placement of art, someone to hang the art, and help with finishing touches. Mara was able to do all this and more. I was consolidating two properties, and Mara suggested some changes I would have never done on my own. She also went above and beyond when she changed her schedule to meet the movers when the second home items arrived. Mara took charge, told them where to place things, and she essentially managed the whole process. She also was able to bring in some great guys to move some furniture from one bedroom to another. The result is stunning.

I could not have finished without her. She is also very amenable to using the items you have-at my request, she did purchase some very reasonable finishing touches. I could not be more pleased. More...

Kurt was absolutely fantastic! He did an amazing job reupholstering our couch and loveseat. It's like new all over again! In addition, their pricing was very reasonable and well worth it. I would highly recommend!

Thanks to the excellent repair job, I will not be having to purchase a new sofa. My couch was poorly made but now it is in better condition than when I bought it. I thought they were coming to my home to give me a quote but they fixed it right then and there and in a reasonable amount of time. For the amount of damage that was done to the frame of my sofa I was surprised at how reasonable the cost of the repair was. Interiors by MALOKU is a great interior design firm. As a contractor I’ve recently done a handful of projects with Mara and she’s been so good to work with! The usual headaches of setting up any given job and having the details not worked out ahead of time simply isn’t the case with MALOKU and that makes such a difference for how smoothly a project runs. Mara, the designer I've been working with, is sooooooo professional, always on time for our appointments, EXTREMELY talented, and has selected items and fabrics that are absolutely IDEAL for my master bedroom and living room! She has traveled with me to various stores, and helped me select items that I know I'll enjoy in my home for years to come. In addition, she has referred me to other professionals with whom she has worked in the past. For example, one of her contacts is building a fireplace mantel and surround for my bedroom, and like Mara, he is also quite professional and has considerable expertise. Mara is a delight to work with. She understood our objective, helped navigate the contracting phase, and was willing adapt to and incorporate what we had on hand. She greatly streamlined the complex decorating choices. She respected our wishes and tastes, never pushed or pressured and provided straightforward information on pros and cons for each decision. Mara helped me decorate several rooms in my new home. I thought it might be a challenge since I wanted to switch to a Transitional look, but most of my existing furniture was very Traditional. However, she was able to easily blend the old with the new and make everything flow. I am so pleased with the results.

Mara was great at finding beautiful items that were within my budget. It was exciting to see the “reveal” after she placed the items in each room. I never felt like she forced anything on me. If I didn’t like something she suggested, she simply offered other options.

Mara is not only great at Interior Design, but she is also a people person. She made me feel comfortable and was very kind and pleasant to work with. We hired Mara at Maloku to help us with our new living room and additional pieces for the house.. We wanted an updated traditional look. She was so easy to work with and had great ideas from the beginning. Mara created this amazing space for us and found a great mix of furniture while staying within our budget. She was happy to keep some of the pieces we already had and made it all work with the new furniture. She was always responsive to calls and ideas we had. Kurt is incredible! He's professional, honest, detailed and reliable. I dislike the word "passion" as it's often overused, but Kurt truly has a passion for his work. He goes above and beyond. He refinished 3 pieces for us: a dining room table, a vintage Victrola record player and a vintage Singer sewing machine, which was the most damaged. He brought that sewing machine back to life! I was nervous about someone else "taking charge" of my room decorating, but I needed help. So I asked Mara to decorate one room in my home. I can't even tell you how amazed I was at how beautiful a job she did. She listened to my likes and dislikes and selected items that fit beautifully in the room. Mara has now decorated every room in my house! We receive compliments with every visitor. My house is beautiful with each room flowing nicely into the next. Kurt, was very knowledgeable and friendly, he worked quickly and cleaned up everthing. He's coming back because he wants to make some wooden pieces so it won't happen again. I would recommend him to anyone.
