Last year my husband and I called them for help with our aggressive dog. We had been to four other training places over the years and none of them worked. Our dog was older and set in his ways, and it was a desperate "last chance" situation. Vernon and Marci came to the house, showed us what to do in order to specifically treat our dog within his environment. They trained us both and explained what the problems were and how to fix it. I was pregnant at the time and he also took the time to trial scenarios to make sure the dog would have no aggression or problems with a baby in the house, etc. He definitely gave us the confidence and training to handle our dog. Unfortunately, Franklin passed away this summer. I will forever be grateful that they gave us the ability to keep our fur baby with us for the remainder of his life. ❤ Thank you, Vernon and Marci More...

Amazing! I can’t say enough great things about this team. We went from a hectic split up household to a calm relaxed whole household in like 15 minutes. Went from dogs dragging me on leash to calm walking next to me in 10 minutes. They taught my husband and I dog behavior and how to become and maintain pack leader position. They also identified the new pup trying to take over and bully the old pets and put an end to that and taught us how to maintain the pack. If you want a calm happy household I would invest in this option before trying anything else, it’s worth every penny! Plus having someone at your house you can ask very specific questions related to your home, something you would never get from just a “Petsmart/Petco” like training. We worked with Vernon earlier in November. We have a Border Collie/Pitbull mix that we rescued 1.5 years ago. Sugar has always been "protective" of us, which has included jumping, growling, barking, and even biting at strangers to her. Vernon was able to help us understand how to interact with her in a way that lessens her dominance. It was nice to have him talk us through what he was doing, why he was doing it, and why it needed to be done. He was straightforward in nature, but I think that's exactly what we needed. We had tried training Sugar with treats and toys in the past, but his approach was very different (and more effective from what I've experienced). He spent a lot of time with us on establishing how we expect her to act as part of the pack, and not the pack leader. Within the time Vernon was with us, we were able to see quite an improvement. Since then, we've felt more confident to take her on walks, take her around other people, and have her interact with other dogs. More...

We had a great session with Vernon last week. Our rescue dog, Greta, had issues meeting new dogs and behaving with dominance and aggression. He taught us how to use the lead as our primary tool to show her we are in control, drain her physical and mental excess energy, and properly introduce her to new dogs. He spent a lot of time walking with us and used one of his large dogs to help us see how these techniques work. A week later I introduced her to our friend's dog properly on the leash before letting them loose in the yard - they played all afternoon! She has been doing so well walking and being much less reactive to other dogs. He also spent a lot of time discussing how to get her ready for us to bring a newborn home in a few months, which was an added bonus! She responds so well to just my body language and hand signals as commands. She now waits to go through the doorway until she's invited, watching me for the signal that she is welcome to go out or come in. Vernon has also helped us talk through some fence aggression via text message after our session. Very much worth it - I now feel like I have control of our big girl. More...

There was around 40 dogs at the competition, she had a few “puffs” and barked at 2dogs.. So happy to report No out burst or explosions!! I corrected her the second she reacted with a tug & bite she was very quick to respond that, that behavior is not acceptable nor tolerated !! We just spent Christmas with 6 dogs, she had Not one puff Nor any dominant behavior!! I am Soooo Happy beyond words, I can’t Thank You enough for all your time, knowledge, and support for helping me and Hattie-Blu live in happy harmony and positive energy!! I questioned if Hattie would always be “reactive” and is this just the way she is and going to be the rest of her life. Vern’s look on his face, encouragement, and response holds so vivid in my mind that I will never forget it. It keeps me positive with good energy to continue daily, working with her and reiterating that “I” am the pack leader. I truly don't know where to start with how happy I am with Vernon & Marci's service. I am cofident for the first time in 3 years that we will be in charge of walks, and doors, and guests. .. not the dog.

The respect walk changed walking with out 80lb mastiff mix in minuets. I never dreamed we could calmly walk past other dogs or that I wouldn't be pulled around the neighborhood but now calm relaxed walks will be the normal.

Treadmill time is my new favorite thing!! Seeing how fully focused our dog was and how quickly she caught on was wonderful. This is going to be my favorite thing to work on in the coming weeks.

Door control... I didn't think this could be accomplished. I truly felt fear every time the door was opened for 3 years afraid our dog would bolt and get hurt. Seeing her sit where she was told and not move with the door wide open made me feel relief like none other.

Through every issue we tackled I am most grateful with how detailed Marci and Vernon educated my family on how we needed to think, act, react, give commands, praise etc. They prepared us to be the leaders in our home and tought us how to communicate that athority with our words and our body language. I also appreciate their recommendations on toys/products to help aid us now and in the future. I feel like having better tools to back up our education will be amazing.

We don't have a completely different dog because of our time with Vernon & Marci, we have a dog that will be able to be her best self because we have been taught how to help and lead her best. I cannot recommend Indiana Dog Whisper enough.

The Indiana Dog Whisperer team really knows their stuff. Sammy is an 8 year old rescue Chow Chow mix. He was left behind when his family moved, lived on street for about 2 years during which time he was hit by car (can't use one leg), contracted Heart Worm and became fearful of loud noises and everyone! He also has an injured ACL in one knee and fractured his femur in another leg. This dog has been through it all it seems. But, when I saw him, I fell in love - he is a wonderful dog and I just had to adopt him. He refused to walk in any building (so no way I could take him to any training classes), he hid in corner behind couch when people came to visit, didn't know how to walk on a leash and definitely thought HE was the leader! Oh my. I had my hands full and didn't know where to start. I was referred to IDW. How all of that has changed (in only three months) with their help and guidance! He heels, is still timid when people visit but no longer hides in corner behind couch (sometimes will warm up to those that stay awhile), goes into Vet and Groomer - still needs a little coaxing, has learned to stay in yard with underground fence and more. Most of all, he has learned that "I" and the leader. I am even able to give him pills (never been able to do that with any other dog I have had)! When I open the door to go potty, he waits inside the door - waiting for me to walk out first! We still have more work to do but I am SO thankful for Vernon and Marci - I couldn't have done it without them. Before I met Vernon and Marci, I was ready to give up, by that I do not mean get rid of our dog. I just didn't know what else to do? I had worked with two different trainers already, they each taught me something, so I will not downgrade or say anything bad about them, because I've learned something from each person, I have worked with, but what I really needed was someone to help me work with our Max's behavior issues of which it was sad for me to learn, I was the one who needed fixed, so I could teach Max. I saw results the same day and I'm still seeing results and today is only day 5, this will be work, it will not be instant, (well some is) like the car rides, I see a 100% improvement already on the car rides with Max, before he carried on and yapped the whole time, today he laid in the back seat and acted like a Good Pup. He has been a little better around our cat and only has growled once now, and all I had to do is say stop and he went to his crate, I didn't even tell him to do that, he did it on his own. We made it past a squirrel today, this was something I have not been able to do until today, and we walked past my nephews dog and walked in Petco, today I did have a little trouble, I'm sure it was more me than Max, when I tried getting him used to the vet, but I didn't give up I even tried a second time and it went a little better, I have to work on me in this area and me not letting him sense my fear or uneasiness and then Max will improve, because I am uneasy meeting new dogs head on, and I think it is because our last dog was attacked by another dog in a pet store, I just came to realize this today, so I'm still holding onto that experience and I have to tell myself Max is not Midnight. I will have to use the tools Vernon and Marci gave us each and every day, and put forth and effort to change and become a good dog owner. I was told by another trainer and maybe this is still in the back of my head, that Max would never be able to be around other dogs, and that Max would not even make a good dog to go into nursing homes, but with the changes I'm seeing I have hope again, that I can help Max become any sort of dog I wish he could be, it will just take time, it will not be instant. I am so thankful that these two came into our home and helped to fix the owner just as much as they have helped to fix Max, Gail and I are both thankful for you Vernon and Marci and I know Gail had a look of shock on his face today when he saw how Max was in the car. Max, Gail and I appreciate all you have done to help us to become better Pet Owners! If your uncertain about calling Vernon and Marcie you owe it to yourself to try, it may seem like a lot of money, but the trainer I paid before Vernon and Marci was pretty close in price and I had 5 visits in this one 4 hour visit, we worked on all the issues I had explained we was having, and I saw improvement immediately. I just wanted to relate an awesome experience I had regarding my Lily Blue. I hired Vernon Taylor, Indiana Dog Whisperer, for some training that Lily and I seriously needed. Lily had issues that could have landed her in the middle of the street struck by a car which was terrifying. Although Lily has a fenced two acre yard, Lily Blue was escaping the confines just because she wanted the challenge. In addition, she was aggressive toward my older dogs in an attempt to establish herself as the Alpha. When Vernon walked through our front door, the positive energy that surrounded him was almost surreal! Vernon spent time with Lily Blue, and in less than two hours he had curbed both behaviors . . .she learned her physical territory was within ten feet of the fenceline and that her place within the pack was definitely not #1. He equated her agression toward the older dogs to a situation where a human grandchild would slap a grandparent in the face. He also taught me how to sustain and reinforce these positive behaviors. He also taught me how to control barking among the four dogs and to differentiate between the appropriate times to allow them to bark and when to cause them to cease, My biggest violator of this bad habit was Sophie who barked nonstop at everything. . The same rang true with jumping on visitors. Lily Blue is a changed dog and all for the better . . . she is such a loving, sweet soul who now remains home on her own and works and plays well with other dogs. The other dogs have also become better citizens! Keep in mind, all of this was accomplished by Vernon in ONE SINGLE AFTERNOON! His technique was firm but gentle with absolutely no physical pain or harm involved in the training process. More...

Very sound advice that catered to our concerns. They observed her and listened to what progress we were able to make on our own. We saw immediate progress and she was walking well with us after the first walk. I like how they took her for a walk without us and confirmed the behaviors we were concerned about. They corrected a few things we could be doing differently and we’re grateful for all their advice. They got us started on the treadmill as well. More...

Hiring the Indiana Dog Whisperers was the best thing I've done since I adopted my pup. I had few problems with my dog to begin with so I never dreamed of how significant the session with Vernon and Marci would be for me. My only regret is that I didn't hire them sooner! I learned the behaviors and actions I needed to know to understand and appropriately communicate with my pup and the rest has been SO EASY. I am beyond impressed and pleased with the entire experience. My friends have started joking about how much I continually talk about how blown away I am as well as all the advice and tidbits I learned along the way. If you're reading this and considering hiring Vernon and Marci, then my advice to you is DO IT. As if the reviews here don't speak loudly enough? Everyone knows that public reviews can be difficult to keep positive and this duo doesn't have to do anything to keep them positive as those are the experiences and outcomes they pride themselves on. Can't. Say. Enough.! More...
