Mel is amazing and kind. She researched the weather and found that the original place we had picked for pictures was very rainy that day. We moved locations and Mel we wound up on Makua Beach! It was lovely not a ton of people and a good mix of mountains, sand, and water. The pictures turned out beautiful for a surprise engagement! My family and I were on vacation in Oahu and wanted great vacation memories and awesome Christmas card photos.  We decided to do our family photo shoot with In the Light with Mel.  Mel, the owner, had great communication with us during the entire process.   I had many questions before booking with her and she answered emails quickly.  Mel offers many choices of photo shoot locations all over the island.  She was on time to our photo shoot and asked us if there were any shots/poses we specifically wanted.  Our photo shoot lasted about an hour.  As promised, our photo gallery was ready to view two weeks after.  Despite the windy, almost raining weather, our photos came out great.  The sunset lighting turned out well.  Mel is really easy to work with.  Don't be shy to tell/ask her for poses/shots you want.  Now we have beautiful family photos to display in our home and memories of our Hawaiian vacation.  Mahalo Mel! Mel instantly put my family at ease and did an amazing job relating to my kids (ages 6 and 8).  She is super easy to work with from booking to receiving the images.  Our pictures are amazing and my favorite souvenir of our trip to Oahu.  We did a family photo shoot with my parents, sister and kids.  I highly recommend In the Light with Mel Photography.
