This was the best massage I have ever had. It was very relaxing and so professional. The price is perfect. We had a couples 75 minute massage for $70. 00 total. We both felt wonderful after our massage. We will be back. Thank you Jen and Althea for the wonderful massages. Yes, they are students, but they knew their profession to perfection. My oh my! I purchased a Groupon for a couples massage class through HMTI and it was fantastic. Our instructor was friendly and showed a distinct passion for the art of massage. The room was dimly lit, soft music was playing and it truly was relaxing. The class was 2 hours and each person gets a 1 hour massage. We learned a lot of compression techniques that my boyfriend and I will put to use at home. We are big fans of reflexology massages so maybe we'll come back for a more in depth class. Two thumbs up! I'm truly satisfied with this services I received thus far. I won a free lottery to the school when they were located on University Parkway. So far I've tried several techniques such as deep tissue, swedish, acupuncture. This place is affordable, accommodating& the students know their craft. Finally had a chance to try out one of the student clinics at their new location and was very pleasantly surprised! I really wasn't sure what to expect with a cheaper student clinic, but this was definitely close enough to the experience I had at professional spas. There's certainly no cucumber water or a locker room with plush towels, but you get a private room with a real massage bed, clean sheets, a CD player playing the typical flowing-river music, and of course, a pretty decent massage. You get to give feedback in a survey at the end, so it's kind of nice in that you're helping the student become an even better masseuse who will likely be doing the $100+ massages somewhere else. For now, you can't beat $30-$40 (depending on weekday/weekend, time of day). I will certainly be back! More...

I am not a student, but a customer. I have been there several times and gotten an amazing massage each time. The students are always very nice and great at what they do. However, I wanted to make sure that I gave a special shout-out to the manager/teacher that was on duty last Wednesday, February 24th. My husband and I came in for massages and a very serious storm was going on and needless to say after walking 2-3 blocks from where we parked, we walked in looking like a couple of drowned rats. She felt so bad for us, she got us towels while we waited for our appt to start and then offered to take our clothes to the laundromat across the hall during our massages, and she did! When we got done with our appointment, feeling all relaxed, we were handed fresh-out-the-dryer clothes and it was just the icing on the cake. And when we walked out front, the rain had stopped. My husband and I always wanted to take a couples massage class. We saw a groupon for this place and decided to give it a try. This was one of the coolest dates/classes I have ever had! The class focused on ways to sustain giving a relaxing massage for long periods of time without getting tired. Our class had five couples and we each had our own table to practice on. The teacher starts the class with one person giving the massage and one receiving and then, in the second hour, you trade spots, so you both get to enjoy giving and receiving. Before this class, I could never massage my husband because he is so ticklish. The instructor gave me specific techniques to help massage without him bursting out in laughter.Before we arrived, I was worried about getting kicked out of the class for being too silly. We were once kicked out of a birthing class for getting the giggles when they made us try out breathing techniques. Luckily, this class wasn't overly new-age. We did get the giggles a few times, and the teacher was still very nice to us. More...

Hello Everyone, I am a 2008 Graduate of Holistic Massage Training Institute and I highly recommend the school to anyone who is serious about becoming a Therapist! The curriculum, the instructors, the location, the price, everything about Holistic Massage Training Institute is the absolute Best!! I am still surprising myself with the information and skills I learned there! Because of the excellent teachers we had I was able to pass the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Exam on the first try! I find this place a great combination of value-for-money and convenience. I have been going here since 2007. The hourly massage costs about $75 and I love that you can call on the day of and leave a message on the phone and someone will call you back and schedule a same-day massage. The other great thing is the student clinic, where you can get a daytime, weekday massage for $25 from massage therapy students! I had one not so skilled student and two fantastic ones, one of which I went to, for 7-8 sessions during her training.Given 4 stars, as ambience is as bleh as it can get and some therapists are best avoided( Eg Janine- weird bedside manner).
