Hello, My name is Carolyn Nicholson I have been a professional teacher and licensed counselor for over 20 years. I retired recently from the Michigan Public Schools and am working independently as a Life Coach and Therapist.
As a teacher I made lessons interactive and fun! I taught Nutrition, Health, Stress Management, Reproductive Health, Communication and Relationships.
As a school Counselor, I ran groups for those students who struggled with their sexual identity, stress, family abuse and neglect, etc. I also met with individual students and parents as needed.
I also conducted seminars in the interest of parents and students being successful in school with academics, testing and college prep.
I currently work with clients dealing with: anxiety, depression, communication, ADHD, Alcoholism, Past child abuse, Relationship Issues, Boundary & Goal setting.
It is my goal to help ALL clients see their self worth and to gain insight and skills to make their lives more manageable!
I believe in client centered therapy, cognitive therapy and solution focused therapy.
I enjoy working with my clients and validating the positives in who they are!
I also believe in practicing what I preach - It is important to practice being healthy physically, mentally, socially, spiritually, intellectually. I am a cyclist, avid outdoor enthusiast, love to swim, love my pets, family and friends. I believe in eating well, enjoying life, playing music and doing what makes me joyful.
