Food was actually very good.  Cost a little more than I was expecting but I guess that's the price you pay when you eat in Seattle. We will definitely be back.

Don't believe the bad reviews. A friend suggested Harissa for our dinner. After reading the reviews I was skeptical, but trusted her suggestion. We were both extremely pleased and I'm already planning to return. The host/server was extremely welcoming. He had a lovely sense of humor that immediately made us feel comfortable.  All of the food we had was amazing. We shared a mixed appetizer which was a delicious combo of hummus, eggplant, labneh, and spicy tomatoes. I had the special lamb meatball stew and my vegetarian friend had the vegetable stew. We had the house red wine at the recommendation of our server and it did not disappoint. We both loved our entire meals. More...

This was my first time to Harissa and I have to say; I thoroughly enjoyed myself. From the food to the dancer and hookah it was an excellent evening. The DJ was amazing, he played great music and there was so much joy and culture in the room I could not get enough. The Walid Platter is a great way to get a taste of everything and their kebabs are to die for. The lamb is so tender and perfect! Service was nice but agonizingly slow. I'm not sure if that is always the case but it was really frustrating. That is the only reason for the 4 stars. Can't wait to go again More...

My friend and I usually come here because we really like the enviorment. Plus on the weekends they have a live band and belly dancers which we enjoy watching. What I most enjoy from here is their seafood. The owner is super friendly with costumers and likes to come out and talk to you. I would really recommend this place to anyone who is looking to eat great Mediterranean food. More...

I eat there frequently, usually a kabob which is always fresh. The pita is made on site and if you like hummus you will love theirs. For me my favorite thing only they make is a salsa that is just spicy enough, I put it on my entire meal and usually have to order more. There is live music on the weekends too. More...

Walking into Harissa’s for the first time last night the atmosphere was cheerful and inviting with Chef Walid being the first to greet and welcome us. Having quickly earned our trust we placed all matters of gastronomy into his hands letting him decide what we would have - do the same and you won’t be disappointed! Appetizers, cocktails, dinner and tea were prepared to perfection, and as we dined a musical trio enchanted the night with an eclectic blend of jazz and Middle Eastern music while dancers engaged in an expressive yet playful danse du ventre. We love the atmosphere of this restaurant. If you choose to eat inside, they often have some lovely, mellow live music playing, and if you choose to eat outside, they have a nice little patio shaded by vines. We found the food here to be either very good or very average. We ordered the combination appetizer plate with various dips and thought two of the dips were outstanding (notable hummus) while two were average. My mom ordered the combination seafood stew which was delicious. All of the meat, which included shrimp, scallops, and salmon, blended surprisingly well in the stew and were cooked well. The lamb kebab was slightly above average even though it was a tad over cooked. The grape leaves were a bit disappointing, but not terrible. The tabbouleh salad was pretty good, and the Caesar salad was very flavorful, but drowning in dressing - if you must have a Caesar salad with your meal, order the dressing on the side. I would eat here again, especially if they have good music! More...

We had a GROUPON we needed to use. Made a reservation on Open Table and walked in. Wow. What we didn't expect was walking into a live performance by the soulful jazzy sounds of Soul Food. It is a small restaurant, and the band took up a good fifth of the place, but we immediately felt warm and welcomed in spite of being so surprised. The food was very very tasty. Even if it wasn't, we would have enjoyed our experience.  You can show up at Harissa on Thursdays if you want to hear Soul Food. I highly recommend it. :) More...

I was surprised to find that I hadn't already reviewed Harissa. I guess I forgot. My visit a few days ago was at least my third (maybe fourth) over the last few years. My family has visited this restaurant a few times for birthdays and other special occasions. The food here is quite good, but everything seems to cost a few dollars more than I would expect. It's a nice treat though. On this recent visit my group shared the appetizer combo plate, which came with two baskets of fresh pita bread sprinkled with feta, and four dips: hummus, eggplant salad (this had a really nice smoky taste), a spicy salsa-like chunky tomato salad, and labneh (creamy yogurt/cheese with herbs). I loved the fresh pita bread and the dips went well with it.For my main dish I ordered the meat special: lamb meatballs stew. This stew had a good amount of lamb in it, along with many different kinds of vegetables in a tomato broth. Overall, the flavor of this stew wasn't my favorite, but I did like the wide variety of vegetables that were in it, and that the vegetables were tender but not mushy. (I remember carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, corn, broccoli, lima beans, and possibly a few others.) The stew also came with a side of rice pilaf and a choice of two salads (house or Caesar). I opted for the Lebanese House Salad, which has red onions, tomatoes, feta cheese and cucumbers on it. The salad was fresh and has a good balance of lettuce, dressing and toppings. In the past, I've ordered the mixed kabob (chicken, lamb and beef) which I enjoyed. The kabobs come with rice pilaf, grilled onions, tomato, and spicy-ish pepper. It's plenty of food, especially if you order an appetizer (and honestly, appetizers/mezze are probably my favorite part of Mediterranean food so I always want them!)This restaurant has live music on the weekends (and belly dancers!) It's frequently been somewhat quiet/empty in here when we've been in, which is a little awkward, but the owner is friendly and likes to chat. He even brought us a bonus baklava this time! More...

We are between 20-25 year olds and it's definitely a fun place to come on weekends and host an event. They allowed us to stay as long as we like. We danced on the dance floor. My experience here was above and beyond the usual restaurant experience. The food here was delicious and fresh, but then it helps that I really like middle eastern food. We ordered the mixed kabob, greek salad, spanikopita, and appetizer combo. We also had the baklava for dessert. The highlights for me was the appetizer combo, which I would definitely order again. I usually skip appetizers but I was glad we didn't. It comes with three dips, each which were delicious and had really strong flavors. I also really liked the greek salad. It was very fresh, but it must be the dressing that makes the difference. I did not find the portions to be small, however, I don't have the largest appetite but I can see how the spanikopita might not be very filling. I also though the baklava was delicious, usually it is too sweet for me, but this wasn't and it also had a nice light flavor. As far as service concerns, we had excellent service but we were also there when it was slow. More...
