What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to a great photograph is letting the model be themselves! Candid, goody, romantic, intimate, expressive, stoic... whatever! And then beyond that is the technicalities of compositing a great shot with exquisite lighting and angles. But what people will always see first and remember most is not technicalities but, instead, it's the life in the portrait.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Where do you see this being displayed? In your home? On social media? In an album? This helps me catch your vision and purpose for our session plus give me an idea of what locations and themes may be appropriate.
What do you love most about your job?
In my experience, the thing people reach for first after the passing of a loved one is a photograph. When we recount a story, we show a picture. When we post to social media 9 times out of 10 people add a photograph to it! Portraits are important to us all and we want good ones! I would love to be the one to help you decorate your walls with cherished memories!
