Awesome shop. Needed a painting framed and the owner took the time to help me select the color for the border to play off the colors in the print. Great work, fair price. Would recommend for sure. More...

I am so glad I found Mark while looking for a poster framing service. His shop is local to me and he was very responsive when I contacted him. Mark is a true professional and even rushed my order so that I was able to pick it up in exactly a week. He did a great job of showing me what all my options were and in the end, his prices were so reasonable compared to Michael's/Aaron Brothers. When I picked up my order i was very pleasantly surprised to see he went the extra mile and added the hardware needed to hang my poster as well as spacers so it doesn't scratch the wall. I will definitely refer my friends and family to him and return for other framing needs! More...

I'm so thankful for Mark's expertise and great work on the canvases I recently purchased. I don't have much experience with wall decor/framing/hanging - Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through all of my options to be sure I would love the final product. He was very easy to schedule with and the prices were more than fair. Thank you, Mark! More...

Mark is great at helping you pick out the right frame for the piece. He has a knack to pick out the best frames for needlepoint. These pieces can be a bit hard to frame due to the fabric and stitching. Â Because of him, I've won special awards in juried needlepoint shows. One of them won judge's ribbon, a very difficult category. Of course, he's good framing pictures too. Â His prices is on par with Michaels' framing on sale, but much better. More...

Got a print from Comic-Con framed here. Looked great. Owner runs art galleries and knows how to add just the right color of matting.

. Â I was extremely lucky to find Mark from Hang1 when I was searching Yelp for someone to hang pictures in my condo! Â He was able to take me that week, arrived on time and brought an array of tools I had never seen, including a ladder that stretches over stairs. Â The ladder gave him access to walls that I thought would never have pictures. Â I quickly saw that Mark was totally professional and very creative with ideas for picture location thathad never occurred to me. Â Mark takes his art seriously and is a great person to work with. Amazing job framing several pieces of hand-done embroidery. Mark has an excellent sense of color and texture, and is meticulous about quality. He did one novel inside frame by wrapping royal blue douppioni silk around an inner mat, inside a shiny black frame, for multicolored silk embroidery. Gorgeous. Looking forward to using him again. I recently used Mark to hang a 6 1/2 x 4 ft, framed photo. I called him on a Saturday and he was able to squeeze me in as early as Monday. He was also able to come at night, no "I'll be there some time between 3-6". He was on time, professional, efficient, and very friendly. He also gave me advice on where to hang a second piece. I would highly recommend him into anyones house. More...

Went to Mark to get some wood cut at a 45 degrees for some canvas frames. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and as a result, I ended up getting him to put the frames together for a low price and excellent workmanship. This saved me so much time! Top quality! Definitely recommended. More...

This review is a long time coming. Â I'm so happy I found Hang 1 over a year ago. Â Mark is a talented guy and such a pro at what he does. Â I've been very happy with the quality of his work. Â I've had him do several pieces for me over the last year including one embedded piece that I love. Â The latest one was a very sentimental piece for my sister that I also had him box for me to ship to her. Â It was packaged so carefully when I picked it up to ship and I just went to visit my sister last weekend and saw that she had it hanging in her kitchen. Â She absolutely loves it. Â For everything Mark has done for me he has been on time and very reasonably priced. Â I will definitely go back again and highly recommend him. More...

I just picked up a custom framed stitching piece of my Mom's from Mark at Hang 1 and he did a fantastic job. Â The green of the frame matches the flower stems perfectly. Â Now to enter it into the Del Mar Fair. Â Fingers Crossed... Blue Ribbon!Quote from Mom, "The quality is amazing especially for the price. Â Would use them again in a heart beat." More...

What do you love most about your job?
I very much appreciate and enjoy the fact that every job that comes through Hang 1 is completely unique. All aspects of my being are tapped on these jobs, not only with regard to an aesthetic presentation, but also with regard to the analytical and structural engineering challenges and also the physical element of getting the art on the wall. I compare these jobs to solving a big, beautiful puzzle and the challenge of this is what always keeps me inspired.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I felt like I had something unique to offer the art community and my talents were not being fully utilized as a 9to5er (W-2). Being a 1099 is not always easy but I have never regretted making that transition.
